After reading an article in the Boston Globe this past summer, we decided to take a trip out to Royalston, MA to try to find the 3 waterfalls mentioned in the article. Who knew there are waterfalls in MA? We relied on our GPS along...More

This was our first and last trip to Royalston Falls. I didn't realize there isn't a visitor center or parking lot. We first entered a gravel road that became impossible to drive along, even for my SUV. We tried another road and encountered the same problem....More

If you love nature then this place is a must see. Very quiet and off the beaten path. My kids love wading in the water and climbing the waterfall here.

It was slow going getting to the falls. The trail was totally covered with leaves making it difficult to follow. The tree makings guided us there. The fall was beautiful but not nearly as beautiful as Doane's Falls which we went to just prior.

A breathtaking waterfall that falls into a hole probably the water flows through an underground river. You have two ways of getting here. By the falls road, which only a 4WD vehicle with high ground clearance. Or by route 32 which is accessible by almost...More

My friend and I decided this would be a good place to explore. We parked on the small dirt parking lot located on route 32. There is a historical cemetery nearby and was worth checking out to see the veteran markers and dates of death....More

A fairly difficult trail down to the falls, well worth it if you are able to hike the trail. Took us about an hour and fifteen minutes. Bring water. Gorgeous views of the falls. A must if you are in the area.

The falls were outstanding the path was leaf covered so there were some slippery spots especially because of the rain last night. The path stays close to the stream and from Doane Hill Road and Athol Rd parking spot each falls gets better than the...More

Read some sites where this is considered a moderate hike. I feel that this is a false representation. After leaving the parking lot (where we did not take a photo of the map, bad decision) we walked up and down hills for quite some time....More

This is a fairly short but somewhat challenging hike. Start at the parking area on RT 32 (Not far north of the road that leads to Tully Lake Campground). You hike down into a ravine and back up again. Wife and I loved the falls...More
