This harbour with the Motif No 1 has it all, very quaint, very picturesque, you could walk around here for hours, delightful place to de-stress from the madcap world we live in.

Learning point - this unemplosing red shed is the known as Motif Number 1 - and understanding the location of Rockport and its artistic culture - I can understand why. However, as 'famous' as it is - it is a red shed on the Harbour!

We had heard about the Rockport harbour and this lovely old shed at the far end. We had also heard that you have to see it on a sunny evening ... which we did. Just beautiful and reminsicent of Padstow in Cornwall.

History has it that this building, as early as the late 1800’s if not before, was the first subject new Rockport artists would paint. It can be seen from Bearskin Neck and certainly presents a fine contrast to the blue harbor. I’ve never been inside...More

This is something that is just required if you visit Rockport. My visit this June was the first time since I was a little boy and my parents took me 55 years ago! Really brought back some nice memories.
