A vacation is a journey for the body; a book is a journey for the mind
Tim hand picks all the books in his store and can tell you the provenance of each one. His tastes are eclectic and esoteric - artistic, literary and spiritual, with more than a touch of the subversive and the erotic (it is P-town after all). A great place to find the memorable and the unexpected. Vacation is supposed to take you away from your habitation and your habits; so, a good book that you never would have come across in your usual haunts is the perfect read.

    Ptown hidden gem
Loved this place. The owner was friendly and passionate about his work. He talked with my companion for a while about the town and shop itself. We got several books for incredibly cheap. The selection was fairly wide given the type of shop. The ambiance is incredibly charming and reminiscent of an old school or library with creaky wood floors and Dusty tomes. My one complaint is that it's hard to find unless you know what you're looking for, so pay attention to the shop signs

    A walk back in time....
Unique, old school bookstore tucked away up a wooden walkway in the heart of Provincetown. Leave there every time with a full bag of classic books at incredible prices. Stepping into Tim's is a must. Take time and explore the shelves. You won't be disappointed.

Stacks of books to rummage through on many subjects, from astronomy to theater, but fiction section is disappointingly small. Pricing a bit high.

This was my second visit ever, the first being a few years ago. Nothing has changed, which is perfect. The owner is awesome, the deals are great, and a huge selection. It was busy but he somehow managed to speak with everyone and assist with questions and ring people out. My companion who isn’t really a reader ended up picking out a history book, a novel, and a comic, and I got a novel and we spent about $15, which is way more than reasonable for the cape. I honestly couldn’t figure out how it even if the books were organized beyond genre, but I truly think that is part of the charm. It has that lovely book smell, and a very wide selection of books on every topic. Be prepared to spend a while browsing through the aisles. Will definitely be back

I had not noticed this bookstore located in a house down a small alley. Great selection and fair prices. I came out with 2 big bags of books and my wife just rolled her eyes. Saying more books. LOL

Tim’s has a great collection of books in a wide variety of subjects. You can spend a fair amount of time here browsing!

The shopkeeper, I assume Tim, is very nice and personable.

While walking down Commercial St, I saw a weather-worn shingle hanging from a post "Tim's used Bookstore". I was in search of some levity to breakup the paperwork that I was engrossed in - so I walked in to browse. You will need to walk off of Commercial St. and down a cobblestone path to get to the bookstore I picked up a couple of good biographies, and two books of Maya Angelou's work. All very reasonably priced. Such a lovely way to spend part of a rainy afternoon in Provincetown.

Great place with a decent selection. Was happy to see a relatively good science section as well. Prices are also reasonable and the owner was very friendly.

By the time you walk out of this mysterious little house filled to the brim with row upon row of books, you'll have so many bags filled with hidden gems and treasures to explore that your arms will be pudding by the time you get them to the car. Save the time in the gym, and go crazy at Tims.
