We took an afternoon trip, which was informative and educational. On the way out to sea, a biologist (?) explained what we might see and how to tell if whales might be in the area. It did take a while to see any whales, but...More

In my mind, doing a whale tour is hit or miss because there is no guarantee that the whales will be out. I've heard from a couple of people that they had amazing experiences or mediocre experiences. I went into the tour mentally satisfied if...More

Go out midday (1:30PM cruise) for good weather, lots of activity. The ship's captain is guided by radar & is able to steer the ship where the whales are. Afternoon trips are the best because the water is warmer near the surface so the whales...More

Very clean and you can buy food and drinks on-board. Loved the story they told at the beginning and the lesson on whales! Very informative and the whole crew was open to answering questions. They also have a professional taking a video of all the...More

This trip was definitely worth the price of admission. After about an hour cruising at sea, we were overwhelmed with whales every way you looked. My only complaint was that it was cold and rained on our trip back; however, it is May and even...More

We had so much fun on 5/13/15 that we also went out at 10 a.m. the next morning. On the 2nd trip there were about 30 humpbacks and 3 fin whales. It was a bummer that there was something wrong with my memory card and...More

How to describe such a wonderful trip ? From start to finish it was great: good service on booking ("take the morning boat, in the afternoon there are a lot of teenagers") and information while on the boat (facts and figures by the onboard marine-biologist)....More

We had a perfect day for whale watching. The water was calm and the sun was shining! The onboard naturalist was superb. His knowledge of the whales and Provincetown made for a great trip. We were very fortunate to see three types of whales. In...More

Hi people - a couple of questions I hope you can help with, please. We are visiting from the UK. 1. We are staying near Yarmouth / Barstable 21/22 May. Are best to get a tour from Barstable or drive round to Provincetown? Do we get more time on the Banks from Provincetown? 2. Should we book in advance, or are there plenty of spaces? (Once tried to do a trip from Gloucester in 2012, but was cancelled because of tail end of a hurricane coming up the coast). Thank you in anticipation!

Yes go to Provincetown. After the trip there are lots of shops to walk around and nice restaurants. We booked, but some people turned up and were lucky to get a seat on the day. It's the same price so you might as well book... More

We are coming the second week of August, which time of the day is the best tour to take to see the whales? Was considering mid afternoon 1:30 or the 5:30 p.m. tour. Thank you.

We went on the 10am cruise which I understand is better because the waters and winds are usually calmer! If you have the opportunity try to do the morning cruise!

we were there in October and saw hundreds of whales. I had never seen so many. that area is a rich feeding grounds for whales so chances are usually pretty good. but contact the fleet and ask.
