We booked a two hour ride on a Sunday this month of March 2023. Sam our guide was amazing and had a very relaxed demeanor. My husband and I had the best time riding with Sam, she was very attentive and informative. Given the snow and mud season we are in, the ride was perfect and the horses have great personalities.

Can't wait to go back, looking into the all day class for adults. Felt great to be outside and enjoying mother nature at her best.

Really good! I've been riding since I was a kid and I took my friend who is a beginner. The horses are in great condition and very calm and patient. The guides encourage riders to praise and pat the horses and you can see they really appreciate it. A very well run operation

it was a great experience the day started when drove almost one hour to get there and the only thing that bothered me is that I paid for two hours but we did less than that.

Susan was very responsive when emailing and her daughter Julia was very welcoming when we arrived for our one hour trail ride. Everyone who worked there clearly loves their job and enjoys sharing the experience of riding horses with others. We were first time riders and I can't believe how easy and relaxed they made it feel.

Thank you for a very special mother/daughter day!!!

Took our family for a 2 hour trail ride (2pm-4pm) for my daughters 15 bday. My only complaint was the ride wasn’t actually 2 hours because it took us a bit to get all riders set up so we left after 2pm and we were back before 4:00 but otherwise, staff was awesome, horses were friendly and easy to handle, property was beautiful, food was great (small menu), and they offer other activities as well like live music, sleigh rides, etc. I will definitely return!

READ THIS BEFORE GOING (esp. with a kid)
A quick story about how a place where stuff helped horses turned to the worst one. Find a better place where the staff treats horses and people better, Cornerstone is the worst (even though I loved it before)

I and my wife spent the whole summer at that place in 2021. Everything was super cool and friendly. I worked on a very stressful job and came to Cornerstone to relax. We took two-hours private rides for two. There was a woman (Robin) and her associates who were kind and friendly.

Now, it’s March 2022, I and my wife came back after the winter.

1)First thing that I mentioned was that even though I paid full price for the private ride, we were taken in a group. There were three more people but I was okay to meet new people and be in the group (my wife didn’t share my perception).

2)We took our horses and nobody gave us neither helmets nor ladders to get on the horse. I came to a horse to touch her, and the young (teenager) associate started to yell at me that I came in without a helmet. She threw me a helmet and went off. I was super shocked but decided to continue and go to the ride. I took a picture of a horse and another woman asked me to delete it and said that it is not allowed (we did it before all the time, making super cool pictures).

3)We started the ride and moved forward with that woman. During the whole ride, she was yelling: “DO NOT TALK; DO NOT TOUCH THE HORSE; DO NOT LOOK TO THE SIDES; DO NOT…, DO NOT…, DO NOT…!

The final thing that killed me was when my horse turned a little and stopped going further. The woman turned to me and started literally shouting that I did something wrong. Just to remind, I am taking my walking tour to relax, I am not in the army or hose police. I told her to stop yelling at me. She started to shout, even more, yell and say bad words. I’m okay with hearing those words but there were kids…

4)Finally I told her that we are coming back and I don’t want to continue the ride. She basically screamed at me and my wife that we are ruining her day(maybe she got paid for a successful ride) and forced me to continue. I refused and she started to threaten me with the police that I break the group tour for other people. She was yelling at me for ten minutes but I stayed calm and cold-minded. Then she called another woman and the teenager(mentioned before). They took us back and I asked to talk to the manager. Her reply was: “THE DOOR IS THAT WAY, NOBODY WILL TALK TO YOU”.

I did not argue about the $200 return or anything else. This place is dead, never go there.

We apologize that your trail ride experience wasn't what you had hoped for. We publish our no-cell-phone policy clearly on our website and in confirmation emails, and we expect that guests will follow these guidelines to make rides more fun, relaxing, and above all safe for everyone, horses and riders alike. We also supply photos of your ride free of charge through an automated delivery service that allows riders to have easily-shareable photo memories without the safety risk of cell phone use on horseback. Anytime our staff notices a safety issue, such as riders not following instructions during a ride, they are expected to return to the barn immediately for the safety of both horses and riders.

Booked a sleigh ride which turned into a wagon ride due to lack of snow - obviously not the fault of the ranch.

However, confirmation email said to arrive 15 minutes early as they were fully booked and did not want to have to give us a short ride due to our being late. We arrived 20 minutes early, checked in and was not taken out for a full 30 minutes AFTER our booked time! So much for sticking to the schedule.

It was cold and snowing and we were waiting for 45 minutes (rather than 15 which is how long we would have waited for our scheduled time). We were freezing before we got on the wagon.

The fire in the fire pit barely had flames - don't know how you were supposed to roast marshmallows, which is advertised and certainly wasn't producing enough heat to keep us warm.

When the wagon did return from the previous ride, it was still another 10 - 15 minutes before we were allowed to load. I think the drivers were taking a break, which I'm sure they needed, but was still frustrating since we were already 15 - 20 minutes late for our ride. Also, during this break, the seats were filling with snow. Fortunately I had an extra hat in my bag that I could dust off the seats with so we were not all sitting in snow, as there was clearly no intention of the staff to do this.

Price was fair as we had 6 people in our group. Not sure that I would want to pay that much for less than 6, but I understand that the price is getting your group (regardless of size) exclusive use of the sleigh/wagon.

No apology for taking us a full 30 minutes after our scheduled time, which would have gone a long way with me.

With that being said, the ride itself was very enjoyable and our driver was fantastic and informative.

If they are not going to stick to the schedule, at the very least an apology for being so late would be in order.

Thank you for your honest, thoughtful feedback, Susan! We are constantly striving to improve our policies and processes, and we of course always aim for everything to happen on-time and on-schedule. Some days we have to be a little more forgiving when customers arrive late, which pushes everything later and later, but we do try hard to enforce timeliness because, as you said, people who arrived on-time shouldn't have to wait due to others' tardiness. A nice recent improvement that you might enjoy is that we recently built a lovely new indoor pavilion heated with a wood stove, which offers a warmer alternative for families while waiting for their horse-drawn ride. We hope you'll come back and give us another try this winter, hopefully soon we'll have some snow for sleighs!

My daughter and I went on a 1 hour trail ride yesterday. Scheduling was easy and convenient. All the female staff on the ground were great! Very welcoming, informative and made you feel at ease. The only negative was the male trail guide riding with us (name escapes me). He did not interact at all with any of us, just rode ahead of us drinking his coffee. When he did utter a few words he mumbled and none of us could hear him, no personality. Otherwise it was very fun, horses were great and shout out to the wonderful female staff and helpers yesterday!

The staff was friendly and very professional. They took particular care to ensure that we had a safe and pleasant trail ride. I especially appreciated having our guide offer to take our photo at the end of the ride. She took extra care to capture the experience by lining our horses (Dusty & Hercules) next to each other with the sun and the barn in the background. Being on horseback, enjoying nature with my son was a delightful and invigorating experience. I can’t recommend Cornerstone Ranch highly enough - thank you for a truly memorable day!
