My wife and I have driven past cranberry bogs for 40+ years, and countless times she has said "I'd love to be in an actual cranberry bog." Well, it only took 4 decades for me to look into it. Mayflower was simple to book, and the people we dealt with were all very helpful and friendly. We did the "Be the Grower" tour which brought us into the bog and had our group assisting with pushing the berries towards a suction hole that sucked the berries into a truck. It was a beautiful day, and we had a really good time.

A visit to Mayflower Cranberries was interesting and informative. The berry covered bog was a beautiful background as the owner told our group about everything you could want to know about the harvesting of the delicious cranberry. We got to watch him on a piece of machinery as he moved through the bog to loosen the berries from the vine. I will never look at cranberry sauce and craisens the same way again. This was a great way to spent time while in the Plympton area.

My husband and I visited the cranberry farm on Oct. 12. This was our second visit, and both times we were delighted! The tour is informative, professional and authentic. On our first visit we saw the cranberries being extracted from the bog, and on this visit we saw Mr. Lafeur using the harvester to remove the berries from the vines so they would float to the top for extraction. Mr. LaFleur provides a wealth of information on the industry, and allows ample time with visitors, and answers everyone's questions. Everyone on the farm was cordial and inviting. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience. It is worth the time and money many times over!

I highly recommend doing the Bogside dinner ! It was such a fun experience. You get to go in the bog & take photos, while learning about the farming of cranberries. The food that was served was very good! Jeff & his family were incredibly nice & accommodating. I can’t recommend this enough ! You won’t regret it !

Fantastic one on one experience with Jeff, who has become a farmer later in life. Our group loved the personal experience and learned much about farming cranberries. He also offers the chance for people to help bring in the harvest for a nominal charge. You can put on waders and push cranberries with him in the fall. Delightful decorations in barn and reasonably priced gift items too.
