We recently saw the play "CLUE", it was a fabulous performance, enjoyed every suspenseful minute of it. Never expected it to be so hilarious, we laughed so much !!!

First of all this place markets itself very well - nice website, nice pictures etc., very inviting.

The fact that they charge $5.00 to get in is also encouraging and certainly raised my expectations.

So we drove an hour to get to the venue.
Upon entering we saw maybe 20 manky old folding seats had been set up for the audience.
Complete with stained upholstery, these babies were straight out of an old folks’ home.

What followed was a rather mediocre 40 mins of Jazz... the kind of Jazz which is the reason that people don’t like Jazz.
The chaps playing were going through the motions and it was obvious.
Not bad players, but certainly got the vibe they’d rather be in a strip club.

Similarly to another review I’ve seen on here we were eventually told off by the guy in front of us for talking... Fine.

My partner and I are both professional musicians and are not in the business of ruining a performance for other musicians/audience members.

If the guy was offended, then that’s up to him. What I would say is that if you want a very sterile, uninspiring, unwelcoming to the point of hostility sort of environment, then this is for you.

However, if you want to have a beer and watch some music with a modicum of atmosphere, take yourself a few yards down the road to the open mic at the pub.

Sweet local venue

Went to see Lenny Clarke. He was hilarious, as were all the comics supporting him. Great night. This place used to be a temple and it’s got a cool vibe. The pew seating is padded and cool. Sweet acoustics.
Good little bar. This is going to be a regular spot for us.
High quality entertainment in town. Brilliant !!

Little gem of a place

My friends and I just watched a very funny play, "Boeing Boeing," at the Spire Center. The converted church pews are comfortable (really!), the performance was professionally produced and acted, and the air-conditioning was perfect on a warm summer day. We live closer to Boston, but catching a play at the Spire Center is more enjoyable than heading into Boston. There are many good restaurants nearby so we made a day of going to Plymouth. We all had a great time.

You have to see this!

Being that we love small venue concerts, we attended our first at the Spire Center and were amazed by the experience. Set in the nave of an old church, the setting was indeed quaint and cozy and the entertainment unbelievable. Treated to a nostalgic trip back to Carly Simon, Karen Carpenter and Carole King by KRISANTHI and her quartet, the evening flew by, surrounded by stained glass and seated on padded pew. Not one of the 300-plus gathering left disappointed

Take in a play!

This lace is a local gem. Not much to look at, but the seating is comfortable, and they serve wine and beer during performances. If something is playing during your visit, it would make a great end to a day of sightseeing.

A Plymouth musical gem

Of course, it's all about the play, artist or concert you are attending at the Spire Center, but this is a great place for all of the above. This old-timey little church in the town center is a great, intimate venue for any type of entertainment. Know, however, that you are going to sit on church pews (which may or may not be what you hoped for), but it makes for a very relaxed evening. Great acoustics and even a small bar for a beverage or two. Don't hesitate. Go.

Nice venue

Small, cozy venue in the middle of Court Street, which has lots of shops and restaurants. There's a cash bar and restrooms on the main floor. The converted church has padded pews (maybe not quite enough if you're sitting for a while) and you can hear well from any location. I will say five people in each section is a bit tight; thankfully, we had some no-shows, so we were fairly comfortable all night. i would definitely consider returning.

A fantastic comfortable venue

My first visit to the Spire center was to see the band Barnstar. I'd never been to the Spire Center before and was amazed by the sound quality, lighting, comfortable sitting (church pews --- but nicely padded), and of course the band.

A truly special place. I'd recommend going for Mexican at Sam Diego's, which is walking distance to the theater for dinner beforehand.

The theatre is small and comfortable, all types of performances are available throughout the year. We were there for Man of La Mancha. My favorite musical !!!!
