Bettyann has cultivated relationships with many of the cranberry bog owners. As a result, she can get you an up close view. She also has learned the history and the process, so she helps explain the process and maintenance of the bogs throughout the years. I arrived at the very end of the cranberry harvest, checked in at the visitor center and they were able to give me Bettyann's contact information. During peak season, make your reservations in advance. The visitor's center also has details about tour times. Meet Bettyann in the visitor's center parking lot and then drive your own car and follow Bettyann, with flags on your windows, showing you are part of the tour group. There are no restrooms or places to get a snack or drink during the tour, so plan accordingly. If you arrive a early or have free time after the tour, Plymouth is a great place to explore on foot. For the bog I visited, I was able to watch them corral the cranberries and start vacuuming them up into the separator and rinsing them as they go into the truck. You are at the mercy of the cranberry growers themselves. arrival of trucks, progression of harvest, etc. but Bettyann does her best to give you an optimal tour. Bring your camera; the colors are vibrant.

Took the tour of the cranberry bogs with Bettyann. Found that she was very personable and knowledgeable of the cranberry bogs as well as the cranberry business. She escorted us to the bogs and explained the process of harvesting the berries and the method in which the growers are payed for their berries. We observed the wet harvesting of berries and learned how they are weighed and processed. Found this tour to be very informative and interesting.

This was absolutely the best part of our trip to Cape Cod. We started to go on a bus tour of the cranberry bogs but fortunately they were booked up. Then we found the best of the best!. What a treat Bettyann is and she is unbelievably knowledgeable about the cranberry bogs. She know the best places to go see the harvesting of cranberries. We heard about all of the different stages of growing, about the growers, the process of harvesting and even got to put out hand in the bogs and pick out some cranberries to eat. We got to go up on the harvester which is not allowed on most properties and see the cranberries being cleaned and moved into the trucks that would take them to the processing plants. Bettyann is such a fun person and I would recommend this trip for anyone. Couldn't have been better!!!!

We were so excited to find Bettyann's tours - they looked perfect and we wanted to see a wet cranberry harvest during our trip from the UK. Initially correspondence via email with Bettyann was excellent. She confirmed us on to a tour and gave great advice about not paying for parking at the Visitors Centre in Plymouth. But then, on the day, she just didn't show up. We were left sitting at the Visitors Centre waiting for her to arrive...and we would still be sitting there if it wasn't for the lovely lady in the Visitors Centre who rang her to find out where she was (they had the tour listed on their board for that afternoon too!). She got Bettyann on the phone - and all she had to say was that there was no harvesting happening that day so she wasn't going to run the tour. OK, so if that's the case we understand, but what I can't understand is that she just left us there without any attempt to let us know that it was cancelled. That's really no way to run a business and left us frustrated and disappointed.

Bettyann led our tour group about 15 minutes out of Plymouth and took us to a few pre-harvest bogs that were absolutely gorgeous. She had us each taste a fresh cranberry so we could see the reason that they float and explained the harvest methods. Then she took us to see a bog being wet harvested. It was like the Oceanspray commercials but many times more interesting. She is an excellent speaker and answered all of our questions. My wife, our 5 children and I were captivated. Most of the others touring at the same time as us were retired and enjoyed the tour as much as we did. Don't miss this delightful taste of New England!
