I had a great experience, and enjoyed the tour. I got to learn about the history, view the town square, walk the oldest street in New England. The guide was a good story teller and she made some really cool sound effects while telling the stories. It was something that was fun to do while there.

Jan the owner is amazing, her ability to keep you on the edge of your seat with her ghost stories which are based on historically factual information is fun. Then she brings out these incredible photos that either she or former tour takers have taken to bring life to them. I was not much of a believer in ghosts but I am now, definitely take this tour and find out for yourself.

Thank you for the positive and great review. I try to have fun entertaining our guests and bring our spirit pictures to life. Not everyone believes in spirits but I say, just keep and open mind.. I cant make things happen but when it does.. It is very exciting. I am so glad we made you a believer!!! Thank you for coming to dead of night ghost tours!!!

Great stories deserve a great storyteller, and that’s what was delivered. Tons of history both fact and and personal experiences of others. I recommend this to anyone visiting Plymouth. And our guide was was generally knowledgeable about the area, food recommendations at 10pm on Sun, which are kind of hard to find.

I’m not sure what I expected but this tour was not very enjoyable. The host is a story teller but some comments were made up; real estate records are searchable so an entire story about a house being bought and ghosts discovered then sold and bought again with ghosts still there was not needed since it was not true. Stick to history, which you know a lot about.
It really was a history tour with stops to look at cell phone pictures of “spirits”
I did learn a lot Plymouth history, which was very interesting but the over the top stories about ghost hunting were just contrived. The story set ups were very obvious. We departed the tour early.

I'm Sorry you did not enjoy our Ghost Tour. We do get some of our stories from people that buy or rent these houses in the historic district. I need to know who and why they haunt.. Our pictures we show are taken by our guests that have been on previous tour and. I m excited to show and share them. That is validation that spirits exists! My ghost tour is not for everyone. Sorry

Tonight I attended the Dead of Night Ghost Tour. The tour was overall not bad, Bob was entertaining, if somewhat racist. However, the tour was marred by the absolute abhorrent reception that we received when we came to check in for our tour. We booked our tour in July, and confirmed last week. When we arrived, Jan informed us that, even though we did had confirmation for our private tour, we would not have a private tour. She also proceeded to gaslight us and tell us that there was no way we could have booked a tour. She berated us and openly mocked us in front of other families, which made us uncomfortable attending the tour moving forward. Her behavior ruined the experience, and I would not recommend going on this tour.

So sorry you did not have fun. We tried the best to accommodate your group. I did not have another tour guide . You did get a private group in the houses . When you came in the door I welcomed you. Loving your neon green shirts. Again i am sorry . I don't know what I could have done better. Your group was the last to check in ... i it was just us in the shop. I don't know what you are talking about.

The scariest thing about our experience was the lack of customer service! We’d booked a private tour and confirmed MONTHS ago and we’re told last minute that it was not possible because of staffing. Our tour guide, Bob, lacked any sort of crowd control and had our group stop in the middle of the street multiple times. They handed out lanterns before the start and mine started smoking and leaking fumes.

In terms of the content, the tour was very dry and our guide spent most of the time reference the Covid pandemic. The only thing I learned was that the dead are buried 6 feet underground which, coincidentally, is the height of the bar for finding a better ghost tour in the area.

Again I am sorry my tour guide was sick. I tried to make the best of what we had. I could not make another tour guide just suddenly appear. I am truley s orry. The lanterns we use have lamp oil in. And If you swing them lamp oil my leak . If you turned up the wick... yes it will smoke... what can I say!!!

If I could give no stars, and curse Jan Williams, I absolutely would. She spoke to me like I was a child and refused to admit that she couldn’t fulfill the reservation like we agreed. I’ve been on ghost tours in several states and would never recommend this place to someone else. Very few ghost stories and absolutely no flair to be found. Jan is the scariest thing about this place and she isn’t worth your money.

Again to each and everyone in your group ... I am sorry. You did get a private tour in the houses. Donna my other tour guide took out the other family and Bob took your group into the houses . . Again my tour is not for everyone. Sorry you didn't enjoy .

Our host was very strict and not very friendly. She spoke to us like we were children. Not impressed with this ghost tour and we have been able on many! It was difficult to hear her and when showing us different houses on streets she would just shine her flashlight down the street and not specify which one she was talking about. Not impressed and glad we didn’t book the 2 hour tour! Maybe a different host would have made it better but unfortunately we wouldn’t know.

Im am very sorry you did not have a positive experience. We do stress safety. The paths we travel can be very busy or narrow and we must stay together as a group. We. may have to repeat several times for everyone to lhear. I wish you had spoken up to your tour guide. that you were unsure as to which house she may have been speaking of. or you that couldnt hear. We try very hard to give everyone a pleasant and wonderful experience. But We need to know while tour is going on so we can correct it.

I first went on this tour with a group of my friends for my birthday in 2016. I've never been a big believer in the paranormal, but have always took interest in the subject. Despite my skepticism, the tour proved to be so enjoyable for a night out with friends that we returned FOUR times (just as fun each time). In 2018 my friends and I went on a fifth tour, on which we paid to stay the night.

Little chill inducing activity- the toilet flushed on its own once while we were using a Ouija board (even the spirits gotta go), but nonetheless an incredibly enjoyable experience. Tour guides were very kind to us (the group was 16-17 year olds, which many would be a little nervous about housing in a rather antique home like Captain Taylor's), and even gave us tickets for another tour which we definitely plan on attending once Covid has settled down.

The tour itself is a perfect balance between Salem history, and the spooky nature of said history. Again, I'm a skeptic, so when I capture images of orbs on the tour I quickly dismiss them as dust particles got in a beam of light, but I did once get a picture of a mirror when I was alone in a room which had a face in it. Still trying to explain it this day.

All in all a very fun night to be had. Highly recommend!

We picked a blustery and rainy night to join Jan and some brave souls on this ghost tour. The weather just added to the New England ghost setting. Jan is rich with stories and knowledge of the area. We opted for the dual tour which included 2 walk through of haunted houses and we were delighted with it all. Plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who might want an encounter with the spirits of the region (and learn some great historical facts from the area) You will not be disappointed and almost sure to hear / see something go “bump” in the night!!
