Amazing bookstore
Mar 2021
Awesome bookstore. Not a comprehensive one with a huge selection but more of a personal one with the best books. The building is great and well decorated. A must see in the area.

Wonderful, old fashioned book store.

Stepping into this quaint bookstore/coffee bar was like stepping back in time. There was a large selection of books, as well as eccentric gift ideas, journals, and even toys and games. It was a wonderful way to spend an hour or so, and the staff was wonderful as well

Great place
Feb 2020 • Family
A nice little bookstore with plenty of books. We drove all the way here because Jeff Kinney the author of The Wimpy Kid books own this store. My Granddaughters love his books and we’re so happy to see all his books in one place.
Don’t worry adults, there are plenty of books for you. Plus a nice cafe to sit, drink coffee and enjoy your new book.

Mike Stanton book signing "Unbeaton"
Nov 2019
The Pulitzer Prize award-winning investigative journalist and biographer Mike Stanton was at the An Unlikely Story book store in Plainville to discuss and answer questions on his book, the biography UNBEATEN, about Rocky Marciano, the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. A book signing and an opportunity to further talk with Mike followed an excellent local cable T.V. reporter hosted Q & A session who was also a former Brockton, MA resident, also Rocky's home town. Mike also shared that his book was recently optioned for a movie which, based on the 1950's - 1960's era when professional boxing was at its peak and the involvemnet of mob controlled venues and cross-cultural biases pervading American Society through sports back then, should make an exceptional sports movie of the times.

Great bookstore
Nov 2019 • Friends
This building was an ancient general store that has been rehabbed. It is a delightful spot with books, gift items, tables for writing your novels, and good food. It’s worth a look see even if you are not on a particular shopping mission. Prices are reasonable. There are holiday tables on the second floor that are specialty items handmade by local people in season.

A book Store!
May 2019 • Friends
I live locally and had heard this was a great store. I popped in and have to agree! Its small, rustic and quaint. This is not meant to be a big conglomerate it has a homey feel. The staff is all very pleasant. The atmosphere is nice and enjoyable. They have a small section of unique gifts. I didn't see or participate in any of the events. The cafe had a small seating area that was warm and inviting. The second floor is empty - maybe for future use? This is a really nice, small store. Definately worth a visit if you are in the area. I think it is too small a store to draw anyone from a distance. Parking out back is tight but there is a lot across the street. If you support books (as opposed to electronic reading devices) and have the time to browse - stop in!

Bookstore Events
Dec 2018 • Couples
Besides the quaint bookstore/cafe, knowledgeable staff and unique gifts, what makes this bookstore stand out are the events that they offer on the 2nd story. I've attended author talks, story times for children and most recently the women's group Coastline. You couldn't help but be in the holiday spirit after listening to these wonderfully talented women sing many holiday songs. Many of the events are free and some have a reasonable cost. Check the events out on the bookstore's website.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome
Sep 2018 • Family
This has to be the best bookstore ever. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful selection of books! Check out the Harry Potter flying books, broomsticks and golden snitch over your head.
Many wonderful authors stop by for events, talks, book signings.
Cafe and barista attached with great food and drinks. Watch out though...only gluten free breakfast muffins (dry and tasteless) and gluten free cookies. Yuck!
