Peacefull spot to visit
Aug 2019 • Couples
We stopped here to enjoy the spot and it is very peacefull and beautiful. Even though it is on the road it is very quiet. It is well maintained and wonderfully landscaped. On its lower portion there are picnic table and adult swings. It is a great place to rest a while.

Great To See It

Fun little attraction right where it should be, in the center of it all and on The Cape.
Go for it with the kiddies!

One of several on the Cape
Jul 2018 • Family
Although in and of itself this windmill is pretty, well-kept and located along a lovely waterfront, it is not the only one of its kind on the Cape, and unless you are really into windmills or the history behind this one, I would not suggest going out of your way to find it. If, however, you are in the area it is a nice spot to stop and sit for a bit, walk around and take a couple of pictures.

Nice piece of local history
Jun 2018 • Solo
This is pleasant green area with an interesting history. Located between RT 28 and Town Cove it is easy to see. The main focus is the windmill, however the surrounding area is beautiful and the view of the water is typical Cape Cod. Built around 1720, the windmill has a long and mobile history having been moved several times both within Orleans and to Hyannis. There are several benches within the park conducive to relaxing with a good book on a a summer afternoon. An easy retreat in the Orleans and South Eastham area. It is free and there is some parking.

Nice but not on Cove Rd
May 2018
This was definitely worth a quick stop. However, it is not located on Cove Rd. It’s at the intersection of 6a and Old County Road, beside Orleans Inn.

Pretty photo op

We went and have a picnic there. When we saw there was a person there we went to see if we could go since someone said there were tours. The guy was pretty rude. We called the Historical Society to complain and they told us the windmill is owned by the town but the town said they don't own it.

The grounds are beautiful and the windmill is impressive. It was not open for tours when we were there.

A real windmill that was used for milling corn etc.

A real windmill that was used for milling corn etc. A person is available when open to explain all about this facility and a real good take. There is no charge or admission cost. Worth the stop. You will enjoy,

Great Stop!
Jul 2017 • Family
This is a great windmill to visit. Sometimes (daytime) there is a woman there that gives you a great history of the windmill and you can climb inside (free!)and look around. Nice view of the water (pond?), a little picnic table, some cute, small gardens, and a nice grassy area. It is great for a picnic, a nice stop after the beach, or a place to eat an ice cream cone from across the street! Definitely recommend!
