Enjoyed our first day so much, we came back for a second

The visitors center in Orleans recommended the beach here, and we enjoyed two afternoons here. Our 6 and 9 year old kids loved looking for sea creatures, rocks, and shells. We... read more

We took the drive from Orleans center on RT 28 along the coast, past Pleasant Bay and on into Chatham, to Chatham Light house. It has to be rated as a top scenic drive, especially at sunrise. Stop the car and walk to one of the small east facing beaches. Take a camera for sure. Many boats will be tied... More

The visitors center in Orleans recommended the beach here, and we enjoyed two afternoons here. Our 6 and 9 year old kids loved looking for sea creatures, rocks, and shells. We found a horsehoe crab, dozens of snails and hermit crabs, and several small crabs. The tide here really moves across a wide area, and we had to move our... More

Stayed on Pleasant Bay with its nature walks, oyster fishing boats, and marvelous salt marshes is one reason to travel half way across the U.S. Only come if you are willing to appreciate and protect it in its natural state. It is a magical place in which to observe a slower, untouched, simpler life full of birds, trees, woodlands, beach... More

Stayed at A Little Inn on Pleasant Bay and took wedding morning sunrise photos for the newlyweds. Spectacular setting and the sunrise was perfect for photographing.

There is nowhere quite like this bay! Peaceful, beautiful and fascinating. Hard to beat! Great kayaking, boating and swimming. Brackish water so it is way warmer than the ocean beaches. Lots of marine life and several beautiful little islands. Great fishng too! Most of the access points are private but there are several town landing areas that make it possible... More

Both Big and Little Pleasant Bays are great places to go for the day. Beaches are small and rustic. Water is warm and can be shallow, which can make for accidental groundings in small sailboats. But, what a breeze to jump off and get going again!
