"The last of the Red Hot Lovers" was playing. I saw this venue when visiting the Orleans Historical Society as it is almost across the street. I didn't know there was a local theater group in Orleans still offering performance in late September, and it was able to offer a great alternative to just sitting on the deck of my... More

An old Simon play well acted in a lovely, intimate theater. Perfect change of pace in a beach vacation.

I was visiting from Ohio anda community theater veteran. I was so impressed by the talent here and this productiin. This theater is small and to see these performers give such a tight performance shoulder to shoulder was impressive. One of the main cast members passed out during the performance and most if the audience had no idea this happened... More

If you enjoy plays, and/or musicals performed by local artists and a reasonable price this is an option worth exploring. The building is a historic landmark converted to a playhouse so it is intimate and parking is often on the street.

A Chorus Line is not my favorite show, and the first half of this effort was a struggle to sit through. But a few of the actors were true standouts, and made the evening worthwhile. The seating is horrendous. I understand these tiny, intimate theaters need to cram in as many seats as they can, but this is too much... More

Tiny theater...no sound amplification needed! The stage sticks out into the audience area; we could have reached out and touched the actors (probably frowned on!). We saw A Chorus Line, one of my all time favorite shows. Remarkably good production for that small of a stage, 3 pc orchestra, and community theater. Going to see Grease next month; can't wait.... I have NEVER seen a bad performance here. What these actors do on that tiny stage is amazing. A Chorus Line was well prepared and perfect!

They need to get a new artistic director. They do the same shows over and over again and the quality of show is so poor. Better off spending your money at one of the GOOD theaters on Cape like WHAT or Cape Rep!

We love going to the small community theatres. APA runs year-round - no small feat on Cape Cod. We saw a fine little mystery-thriller-comedy. well acted, fun, intimate.

We are so blessed to have the Academy nearby. For a reasonable ticket price you can sit comfortably and watch locals transform themselves into characters form classic and less well known dramas, comedies, musicals. It's a real night out and an opportunity to discover that Joe, your plumber, has a wonderful singing voice. On a personal note, I was more... More
