One of my very favorite places in Orleans. Poised by the very breathtaking rock harbor beach.. this church is a work of art by itself. Ask for a tour! It’s amazing and free! Stop in the shop where a lot of the goods are made by the people living in the community there. They often hold functions and activities on the grounds as well. It’s a magnificent, uplifting place to visit, be and wander through! Don’t miss it!

A visit to the magnificent Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans - this building rivals some of the most impressive cathedrals in the world (in my opinion) and quietly blends into the peaceful community of Rock Harbor, Orleans, Ma. From the waterfall of gold on glass, to the electrifying frescos and meticulous detail throughout the building and community, this amazing place is well worth a visit. Their gift shop offers a variety of locally crafted goods and helps complete your experience.

Visited friends who live nearby and had a chance to the hourly tour. Wonderful art affirms the Liturgical Theological connections. Guests may also stay at the Guest House and enjoy catered food and fellowship. The Sisters/Brothers take Oaths of Simplicity and beyond. Amazing commitments for their faith. God bless and enjoy!

We stopped here for the vespers. A delightful community member showed us what we needed to observe and to participate. If you haven't experienced Gregorian Chants in person, then make sure this is on your list of things to see.

Go to rock harvest for the view.. but definitely take a tour of the neighboring grounds and the church of the transfiguration! It’s gorgeous and full of rich history and beautiful artwork! Amazing architecture and don’t skip the gift shop where they also sell some delicious and fantastic goods that are made right there in the community! Fabulous! Park at the marsh view and walk in or if you prefer to drive up.. parking is ample! The have very clean rest rooms and everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable!
