First off, the customer service was great. We booked our tour and of course the 3 hours around our scheduled time was supposed to have thunderstorms. They were quick to reach out the morning of our tour to let us know the weather was going to be potentially bad and they would need to cancel our tour. However, they were able to reschedule us to later that same day.
We went on a seal tour and it was fantastic. Captain Rob Wissmann was super knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. He took time to slow or stop around numerous points of interest and explained quite a bit about the surrounding towns and area history. He was incredibly friendly and great with the kids. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anybody that enjoys being on the water and seeing the local wildlife. My kids were asking of we could go back immediately after getting in the car which is always a good sign.

I’ve been coming to Cape Cod for 15 years and of all the experiences I’ve had here (whale watching tours, fishing boat excursions, etc), this was one of my top favorite things I’ve enjoyed doing. Captain Rob is a wealth of knowledge and tells great stories- without sounding scripted like some tours. He knew exactly where to take us to see the seals up close and the boat was very comfortable and spacious for our group of 6 adults and 3 children. I’d recommend Blue Claw for a fun way to get on the water and see some wildlife!

We booked a last minute seal tour and it was a lot of fun. Captain Rob was very knowledgeable and informative of the area, the weather was fantastic, we saw a lot of seals, and got a whole different view of Cape Cod. I would definitely do this again.

I live here, in Centerville, and my family has been coming to visit for years. I am always looking for great cape experiences for them to enjoy. Blue Claw Boat Tours ranks among the best! Captain Rob shared fun and interesting facts. His pleasant and friendly demeanor truly made our seal excursion memorable.

Third time out with Captain Rob and as always it was a blast! Despite a cooler, cloudier day we were able to catch the seals, do some beachcombing (my daughter found all kinds of seaglass) and learn about the history. My kids especially loved the stories about hidden treasure and pirates! We highly recommend booking with Captain Rob. Being out on the water is a great way to see the area as well.

We had a great seal tour with Blue Claw. We saw lots of seals and beautiful scenery. Our guide was fun and informative. They were also super flexible when we added an extra person at the last minute.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our Seal adventure boat trip! From the scheduling and communication, to the actual outing we had a great experience.
We booked a private Seal Tour week of, and the weather turned out to be pretty gross on the day we were scheduled. Cathy from the office contacted us for a next day tour instead. She was incredibly helpful and communicative.
On the actual tour, we had Captain Rob who was a delight — super knowledgable, friendly, and all-around great guide. We learned a lot, and saw some very cute seals. 10/10 would recommend! We'll definitely be coming back for another Blue Claw tour, as it's a really cool way to get to know the coast. Thanks so much Capt. Rob and Cathy!

This was our 2nd time going out with Blue Claw. We did the seal cruise down to Chatham Light, as part of my dad's 80th birthday celebration. Captain Rob was great, sharing stories and history while also giving us time to just sit back and enjoy the cruise. We got up close to the seals as they played, swam under the boat, and beached on a sand bar. Highly recommend and will definitely use again in the future.

Very different way to see Cape Cod. We really enjoyed seeing the seals up close and seeing the fishing boats bringing in their catch. The boat captains were very informative and entertaining. We had a picnic on an island, the boat captains gave us treasure for the kids to find. We also found some great shells.

This tour was fantastic! Captain Rob was a knowledgeable guide and an excellent seaman. We had a wonderful and informative tour, plus tons of fun when we zipped through the ocean after exiting the river. The seals were fun to watch bobbing around Chatham harbor (tip: schedule your tour after looking at the tide charts and try to find a time close to low tide so you’ll see the seals lying on the sand banks). We also appreciated how Covid-safe this was since it was a private tour! In addition to the seals, the osprey were plentiful and so beautiful to watch soaring above the river and pond.

Hi, can you see whales on your cruise? And do you have to buy tickets in advance?

We do not go into the ocean to view whales, our cruises are in protected waters behind the barrier beache where we visit the local seal colony. We do recommend that you purchase tickets so that it guarantees you a seat, although sometimes we do have room for walk ons.

Hi Tonya:
We only allow service dogs on our scheduled cruises. Our boats hold 10-12 passengers and we would not want any guests to be uncomfortable with a dog that they do not know. However, if you book a private cruise for your party we would be happy to accommodate a well behaved dog.

Hi!
We are planning a 1st time visit to Cape Cod in early May. We are considering booking a
Whale Watch activity. We will have our own car. We plan to see all of the Cape and at least spend a few days on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket of the 10 days we plan to visit.
My question- are there any whales in the vicinity of the Cape that early in the summer to see on a Whale Watch? Or, are we more likely to see a lot of birds and seals?

We will be opening on Memorial Day weekend offering seal cruises and more. We do not offer whale watching on our tours.. I would suggest looking into the whale watching trips that depart from Provincetown. Good luck and enjoy your time on the Cape, it's a wonderful place to visit!
