I came to Martha’s Vineyard for a couple of days of my holiday in June 2019 on my own and thought I want to see as much of the island as possible plus I loved the movie Jaws, so booked a private tour. Matt was my tour guide and had actually written a book about the filming of the movie and was a local of the island, so knew all the details including filming locations and also history of the island. It was a really interesting tour including many areas of the island from Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and Menemsha. The tour was booked for three hours but actually over ran but this was fine as I was enjoying it so much and was happy to pay the extra money. Matt even took me to a local fishermen’s restaurant in Menemsha and I had a delicious lobster bisque soup and hot lobster roll, they were so good. If you love the movie Jaws and want to see the island, I definitely recommend this tour.

Our group included my husband, parents, and grandmother. We didn't have a lot of time to spend on the island, but wanted to see the sights & learn more about the island, and this ticked all of those boxes. The tour guide, Rich H, was very personable, passionate and knowledgeable, and really helped make the experience a great one for us (and a bit more inclusive than a typical tourist-y feel). Even if you have more time to spend on the island than we did, we highly recommend Rich & this company to start your exploration, as it will highlight the various things you can get into while there. NOTE: I wasn't able to provide the exact dates of our tour, it occurred in October of 2019, so there were no restrictions or limitations due to COVID-19 at the time.

My mother and I took the 3-hour tour with Martha's Vineyard Tours and Transportation when we were on island in late October. Rich was our tour guide and is a resident of the island and has been coming to the Vineyard since he was a little boy. He had extensive knowledge of the history and culture of MVY and answered all of our questions. Rich was a wonderful guide and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
