Martha’s Vineyard Full Island Tour–MINIMUM 8 PEOPLE This 3 hr. tour includes Oak Bluffs: A Victorian seaside resort built around the Methodist campgrounds and the 300+ Victorian gingerbread cottages and the Flying Horse Carousel. Edgartown: stately white Greek Revival houses, The Old Whaling Church, the Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse & the historic Harborview Hotel. Vineyard Haven: entry port to Martha’s Vineyard since the mid 1600’s & our year-round port. Drive through the scenic up-Island country-side passing historic farming towns of West Tisbury, Chilmark & Menemsha, an Idyllic fishing village, the breathtaking clay cliffs of Aquinnah with its impressive light house. On your return you’ll see centuries old stone walls, views of the Atlantic, grazing livestock, rolling hills & the bridge used in Jaws. Jaws Tour of Martha’s Vineyard in June 2019

I came to Martha’s Vineyard for a couple of days of my holiday in June 2019 on my own and thought I want to see as much of the island as possible plus I loved the movie Jaws, so booked a private tour. Matt was my tour guide and had actually written a book about the filming of the movie and was a local of the island, so knew all the details including filming locations and also history of the island. It was a really interesting tour including many areas of the island from Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and Menemsha. The tour was booked for three hours but actually over ran but this was fine as I was enjoying it so much and was happy to pay the extra money. Matt even took me to a local fishermen’s restaurant in Menemsha and I had a delicious lobster bisque soup and hot lobster roll, they were so good. If you love the movie Jaws and want to see the island, I definitely recommend this tour.

Highly recommended tour of MV and Jaws!

When we booked with Martha’s Vineyard (MV) Tours and Transportation for a Jaws / MV tour, we had no idea the amount of fun we would have or the vast amount of information we would receive about the movie and the island. Dave Alton was the perfect tour guide - witty, knowledgeable, a terrific storyteller, giving of his time, and incredibly gracious. He made our four hours fly by. Our only regret is that we did not have time to hear more stories! We would HIGHLY recommend MV Tours and Transportation and Dave Alton for your tour of MV!

Jocko knows all about the island. Non stop information loved it. Learned a great deal on a rainy day early in our week in order to understand things we wanted to be sure to do on our one week vacation. Was told 3 hour tours however when I asked for a 2 hour tour they accommodated easily and text communications quick and easy. Highly recommend

Not worth the time or money.

Be advised that what you are paying for here is a 2 1/2 hour drive through the island. There was no real "tour" in the sense of hearing information about the island. Our guide spent most of the time conversing with one family, and ignored the rest of the group. We could hear her answers to the questions the "chosen ones" asked, but not the original questions. When not sidelined, the guide did share some interesting personal anecdotes, but this was still a disappointing use of time and money.

We reserved a whole bus for $400 for 13 people, 5 of which were kids. The guide was very smart and informative however it was like a 3 hour history lesson. We stopped twice with 15 min limits which was a little discouraging since we rushed just to be in the car more time. So basically we were in the car for 2.5 hours just listening and watching tree after tree go by. We all fell asleep at least once. I feel like it would of been better if he let us out of the bus a little more. I even asked if we could stop and just look at the wild grapes and the gentlemen said there is probably nothing on the vines and sped past them. I would of loved to see another beautiful beach or taken some pictures in Edgar town. We sped past it all. This tour isn’t for active people. Overall waste of time and money!

We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your tour, Yes, in order to get to the most popular points on the Island ( the cliffs in Aquinnah and Menemsha), the drive is 40-45 minutes through our villages, beaches and countryside. And our tour description does read 2 1/2 hour drive/tour time. And our tours are about history & more. In order to cover the Island, in the 3 hour tour we can only stop twice. We are finding that some of our guests like to book even longer tours for multiple and/or longer stops. We do thank you for joining this season during these challenging times! A not so good situation turned around for good

After being disappointed regarding another transportation company, MVtours was able to accommodate 33 passengers at last minute. We did have a small administrative hiccup that Roda worked through with grace. My clients were very pleased with the Professionalism, knowledge and pleasantness of the drivers, Chris, Terri and one other gentleman. Would I use and recommend them, absolutely!! Thank you Roda for all of your hard work.

Great fun and Interactive Tour by Tourguide Rich of Martha's Vineyard, MA

Tour guide and bus driver Rich did a wonderful job taking the full mini bus around the Isle of Martha's Vineyard, MA to see all the important sights if MV. The tour was interactive and took us almost to every spot around the island. Rich is a great comedian and very knowledge about island history, politics, and nature. We were on roads I didn't even know existed. I read Tommy's Guide of MV and this tour covered almost everything in the book. I would definately recommend this tour to all and will take it again next year!! Robby and Irma Scholink. NJ

Outstanding Experience!

Our Tour Guide was amazing! Not only he discussed with us the most important points during the tour but he did it in a very enjoyable manner. He provided a good balance of knowledge and good sense of humor that made the 3 hours of duration to be gone pretty quickly. He was also very careful driving while explaining everything during the way. The tour bus was clean and comfortable and the tour started as scheduled. This tour made of our first experience in Martha's Vineyard a memorable one! Highly recommended!

Great tour with great information about the island. We felt very cramped and uncomfortable in the van because it full. (12 adults in a 12 passenger van makes for no room to move on a 3 hour tour!)
We were dropped off at a different port than we were scheduled because of water conditions and the company made the effort to contact us and instruct us how to get to where we needed to be.

Honestly I was expecting more. The passengers on the tour knew more info than the actual tour guide. Too much politics mentioning. I’m a Democrat but my husband Is Republican and he found the comments inappropriate. The guide/ driver was speeding and continued to speed even after we pointed it out to him. He even chuckled and made a smart remark about our complaint. No true content just speeding around the island for 2 hours.
