The Academy of Music just celebrated its 150 year anniversary. It is the oldest municipality-owned theatre int he country. First class live theatre, music concerts of all kinds, a film festival and even national renowned comedians perform there.

I have seen many performances at the Academy of Music Theatre and have always had a good time, good view (regardless of the seat), and good performances. A really nice place to see a local show. The staff is always helpful and efficient.

An iconic theatre in the heart of the town, it has a cross section of shows...so be sure and keep an eye to the website to know what's coming.

Enjoyed great events in this old restored theater. Great musicals, plays, ballets, Northampton preserved a jewel.

This is a beautiful grand historic theater. They do a lovely production of The Nutcracker They show some movies. There is are ever changing programs. I highly recommend The Four Sundays in February shows. This theater is worth keeping on your favorites list to look up what is playing next.

We are very picky about the venues where we will watch a concert. We like intimate, acoustic places (ex: The Egg in Albany). We traveled from Albany to enjoy a Brandi Carlile concert. This was a perfect venue for this performance. A small, classic theater, with comfortable, wide seats (I am a large man and felt fine in the seat).... More

This is a wonderful place to hear music, see dance, or attend community events. The renovation makes it shine.

Owned by the city of Northampton, this popular theater is a gem in the heart of the city. Once an opera house, later a movie theater, the facility now hosts a variety of community events throughout the year -- one of which was my granddaughter's dance performance. What a thrill for our small dancers to be able to perform in... More
