The size of theater is what draws us to the Academy. Attended the recent Art Garfunkel concert - very enjoyable. This small venue gives you a good seat anywhere. Whether we sit on the floor or in the balcony, we can see and hear the...More

Really not a bad seat in the house. (Of course, front-row seats don't hurt :)) Beautiful interior. Not sure the last time seating was updated but the seats are pretty small (think economy airline seats), so if I were a big person I might have...More

A small , quaint, historic theatre. All seats are good. The only problem is that it is not handicapped accessable to the balcony.

Very quaint/historic theater. Comfortable seating. Seems like a good view of stage, no matter where you were seated. Restrooms could use updating. Pay, "39 steps" was very well presented, actors did an outstanding job. Gail H

You have to see this place. As for the rest of the experience (movie, concert, whatever) it depends on what's playing. One caution: seats under the balcony do not have good sound. I know this from many, many visits to the Academy--back when it was...More
