Smart idea to have parking away from the shore side. You park at their store and take a complimentary shuttle to the boat. Friendly and knowledgeable staff take you out to see on an exciting ride. Fast boat but not too fast for little ones....More
My family of four had a wonderful day out seal watching. We saw hundreds and hundreds of grey and harbor seals. Capt Burt was friendly and knew the history of the ever changing sand bars and seal behavior. I’d recommend this outfitter to anyone- ages...More
There were tons of seals and we were as close as we could safely get. The length of time is great for kids. Our teenagers enjoyed it as well. I could have stayed out longer and just looked at all the incredible houses on the...More
I would highly recommend this seal tour. You park at the Chatham Boat Co and get a quick shuttle (about 1 mile) to Ryder's cove. There you get on the boat. They take you on a slow ride through the cove and then right up...More
I took this tour with four kids aged 1,4,8,10. Everyone had a great time from the time we checked in at the tour building to when we finished. The girls who helped us check in and fit us for life jackets were awesome. They kept...More
Grandma and Grandpa took their two grandkids on the seal watch located at Chatham Boat Co. The bus took us down to the dock and there were 13 passengers including Capt. Skip. There was plenty of room to walk around if you wanted to.
I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Chatham - make sure you bring a long sleeve shirt or jacket as it's very windy. The views are beautiful, the seals are fun and plentiful and Captain Skip knows his info. Thanks, Beachcomber Tours!
We took a short bus ride from registration to the boat. It was a small boat for 29 people. The bus driver and Captain were very friendly. Within 15 minutes we already saw so many seals. They kept bobbing their heads from the water. My...More
We were looking for something to do on our last day of vacation, and this was perfect. A 90 minute boat ride with our teenagers- we saw Chatham from the water, and of course the seals. Our captain Skip was very informative and gave great...More

Not sure of your exact answer, I would expect it to depend on the weather and the amount of people going. Since we went off season, they took a smaller boat, which worked out to our advantage, we were able to get closer to the seals and since there were fewer people, I feel that the Captain took his time and pointed out more then he would have if he had a large boat of people asking lots of questions. It was a more personal tour. We called and booked the morning of the tour to ensure we had good weather. Dress warm though, we were sprayed a little by the water when the wind hit the waves.
