Lovely lunch
Oct 2019 • Couples
Had a great lunch, although not a vegetarian I chose a vegetarian lasagna. The flavours were good and the portion size perfect. Served in its own dish, it stayed hot from the first mouthful to the last. Wine very reasonably priced and good quality. Service was spot on. The coffee afterwards was great and served with a chocolate, made my day!

We went twice for lunch during a 2 week stay in Sarlat. The second time we took the extended family, including a 3 year old and 3 month old baby. The waitress has a lovely smile and is very efficient. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Both times we arrived at midday on the dot and by the time we left, two hours later, all the tables were taken so do book ahead even if it’s only on the morning of the day you plan to go. Highly recommend for families with children.

Just returned from Souillac Golf and Country Club. The whole site was looking superb. I played golf twice with my son and the course was as challenging as usual and the course was in a great condition, especially the greens. We had three meals in restaurant and we were not disappointed. The chefs went out of their way to provide my son with vegan options. We tried some excellent walks near by. Thank you also due to the ever so helpful and pleasant staff.

Great golf

Just returned from Souillac and having played here on a number of occasions spread over several years can confirm that this is a course that just keeps improving. It's a golf course that can be enjoyed by all levels of player, with a mix of a few simple holes and a few challenging holes, but all 18 have their own character and it is a course you will never tire of playing. The green staff are to be commended for the condition of the course and their hard work has paid dividends from the golfer's point of view. Souillac is reminiscent of the highly regarded Boat of Garten course and it, too, makes excellent use of the differing contour levels as it cuts through beautiful oak woodland. A welcoming club to visitors, the restaurant serves good quality food and as well as enjoying the golf course the profusion of bird life in the forest adds to the feeling of tranquillity and relaxation.

Wonderful Stay in a haven of peace
Apr 2017 • Couples
Just back from a two week stay in a four-bed wooden lodge at Souillac Golf and Country Club. There are about 90 lodges in 7 little hamlets nestling in the oak woods through which the golf course has been built. Each hamlet has it's own pool.

Clean and spacious lodge with two doubles, two twin rooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 en-suite, well equipped kitchen, air conditioning in three bedrooms, a wood burner, large south facing terrace with a super view down the valley over the tree tops.

We ate at the on-site restaurant 3 times; a beautifully cooked omelette and chips one lunchtime and very pleasant 3 course dinners on two evenings: fois gras, veal fillet.. excellent.

Very technical golf course with greens in super condition - be prudent with the driver or you'll be walking amongst the wild orchids which grow under the trees!! Some sloping lies and a very tough workout for the short game. Swimming pools were just being opened for the season and there were tennis courts that we didn't try. Had a nice evening game of boules on the new 'pitch'.

There are some lovely walks through the local woods and a local market in nearby Souillac on Friday mornings: fresh asparagus, strawberries, local goat's cheese, honey, yum!!

The weather was beautiful - and as there is very little light pollution the stars at night were stunning.

We'll be going back for sure - with a few more golf balls next time....

A challenging but worthwhile round

You have to be in the full of your health to do 18 holes here. Up and down those hills requires a level of fitness, however there are buggies available.... love this place!
