I cycle on this trail system across multiple towns / communities regularly, and it's a great alternative to dodging traffic on the city streets. If you're polite enough to announce yourself as you approach others (I always call out "Bicycle on your left / right") you can navigate easily even in busy periods.

Nice trail for biking but does have skip areas where trail is on busy narrow road that has a bike lane marked or narrow sidewalk;goes thru parking lot which is ok and need to walk thru waterfront boardwalk BUT overall a great beautiful route that loops around and views the waterfront,homes,and woods.....this nice activity is well created with 90 percent flat feeling.....

The Clipper City Rail Trail is a convenient way to get around Newburyport. There is parking downtown or at the MBTA station. From this trail connections can be made to trails in Salisbury, making for a longer ride.

This trail is a unique aspect of Newburyport and has stops along the way for a beverage (Michaels Harborside) or ice cream (Haley's) take a stroller - your dog - your bike - your significant other as the trail has been extended to include the waterfront and Marsh Hill all the way to the Train Station for a well deserved beverage (Metzy's) beautiful scenery

We use this trail frequently; first with the stroller, then with bikes and scooters. I wish it connected all the way and was circular.
