Although it was a cold winter day it was worth dressing up for. This is such a good walk though part of the town and getting a great feel of the place!! Beautiful view of the Merrimac River and Port. I loved it.

We start by Cashman park where kids can play. Excited what the city has done with the water front. At many points you can drop off into town. But then continue on the rail trail.

We didn't do all of the trail as it was very hot out and did not prepare for a serious walk. Worth checking out. I wish there were more of these trails as they really open up the world to a safe quite area when...More

This is one of several rail trails in the area, but this one wends from the Newburyport Train Station and heads towards the Merrimack River. While it's not terribly long, roughly a mile in length, it is very flat, foot friendly and has a lot...More

Lovely 1.1 mile walk (one way) with sculptures by local artists along the way. Lots of entry points from the streets in Newburyport. Pretty walk that is quite easy.

Nice wide path through the town, but in the cover of trees and greenery. We saw tons of birds and there are lots of fun stops- including a brewery and ice cream!

I walk this trail frequently with my dogs and/or my grandchild. It is wide, clean, and busy on a sunny day. There are walkers, bikers, skaters, and skate boarders of all ages. You will enjoy it!

This is quite a lovely and scenic trail and bike path in downtown... and some of the outskirts...of Newburyport and the Merrimack River. We understand that there are plans to expand it further towards Plum Island as well. And possibly connect it with other rail...More
