We enjoy hiking at Old Town Hill. The views from the top are very pretty! There are different paths that you can take. If it's wet out plan on wearing a good pair of boots. It can get a little bit muddy in the winter months.

I have lived within a few miles of Old Town Hill for 15 years now, and I just discoved it a few weeks ago. This is an amazing open space, that is great for light hiking. And it is totally free. It is not far from Route 1 and 1A, and has ample free parking. It has nice flat area on one side that abuts the Parker River and the tidal marsh. There are many possible encounters with several types of birds. On the other side of the property is a large hill that has 2 paths leading up to it. One is very steep and challenging, and the other is a gradual, winding path. Once up on top the views are amazing. You look right down into Newburyport and Plum Island. On a clear day you can see way out to the Atlantic and see the NH coast and the Isle of Shoals. This is a fun family place and will keep everyone's interest for an hour or two. Do not be like me and wait 15 years to discover OTH, do it on the next free day you have.

Beautiful but the mosquitos were vicious. We had big spray on and we were still swarmed. Had to turn back after 0.5 miles. We will return in the winter.

I couldn’t believe it when my husband drove up to this place. How has this gem been here and I never knew? My favorite new hike in the area.

A very interesting mix of woods, bigger dirt roads, and mowed fields. Great view from the top of Old Town Hill where you can see the Atlantic and Plum Island. Some interesting trails along the salt marsh as well.

Nice trails, well market, scenic vistas from the top.
Lovely trees to hug :-) especially the one at the top of the red trail, surrounded by a circle of large rocks.

We spent the day in Newburyport Old Town area. There are tons of shops and eateries. Area is very old, seems around early to mid 1800s and is a very pleasant day.
