Very Nice for a Small Zoo

Clean, educational and fun. Does seem to be larger than Roger Williams in Providence. Nice landscaping, gardens; lots of staff constantly cleaning up (and separating those... read more

Clean, educational and fun. Does seem to be larger than Roger Williams in Providence. Nice landscaping, gardens; lots of staff constantly cleaning up (and separating those belligerent goats in the petting zoo). Not that expensive if you don't get the combo ticket, but very little kids will like those tiny rides (and I wished I had a ticket for the... More

Southwick's is a nice day trip for the family. If you like monkeys, visit Southwick's because that's the majority of what you will see. The Rhino wasn't visible when we went, but the white tiger was something to see and the walk through deer enclosure was an amazing experience. The aerial ride is a great way to see the park... More

We met up with some family from the Boston area at the Southwick zoo. Having been numerous times to the Bronx zoo and many others we had very low expectations for what we thought would be a small local zoo. Much to our surprise the zoo is rather large and has so many different animals in large habitats. We had... More

This zoo is great just as many Zoo's are but what stands out is the ability to interact with some of the animals up close. My husband and I loved walking with and feeding the deer in their natural habitat, makes the experience that much better.

We went to the Southwick zoo on a week day it was wonderful. Although it was very warm 94 degrees most of the zoo is in the shade making it easy to enjoy even in the heat of summer. Our daughter who is 14 months old loved seeing the animals and the enclosures made this easy to do. Make sure... More

Very clean and so much to see & do.. We've been many times over the years, but the last visit we took several grandchildren - ages 2-13, and you can bring your own lunch (they have plenty of vendors and are adding a large restaurant).. there are some rides (carnival style), but our kids really like the live elephant &... Southwick seems to be a lot more spacious for the animals and even the people. Comparted to Boston that is all too crowded. The have a section that you can touch some of the Bambie's as my nice like to call them. The have a small selection but it's good and the location its great, free parking. They also have... More

Each enclosure area has information about the animal, where they come from, what they eat, etc. In addition to the signs, staff is stationed around the property to give additional information about the animals. The petting zoo is fun, but make sure the kids do not bring the maps or other items the goats can eat. We overheard staff talk... More
