Animals deserve to be free.to put a poor elephant in a cement cage alone with nothing but a puddle makes me sick. Everyone knows elephants are highly sensitive and will die just of the stress of being alone, you cant even give them a shred of grass or water.people like this should be stuck in a solitary box for life... I enjoyed visiting this zoo, and it was a nice departure from the poor zoos near/in metro Boston. The zoo was large and almost entirely outdoors. There is a "Skyfari" option that takes you over ~a third of the zoo by the equivalent of a ski lift. This was very intriguing and it was great to see the animals from... More

Southwick Zoo is massive--both in exhibits and walking trails. I can see it being difficult to navigate with strollers but we'll worth it. A little pricier than other area zoos but an experience closer to a giant exotic petting zoo. Animals are always active when we are here and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Bring the whole family to... More

This is a favorite summer take-in with my granddaughter! She especially loves the giraffes and the deer community. The exhibits are all extremely clean and the animals appear to be well cared for. I would recommend this zoo to anyone looking for a nice day out.

This is a great zoo to take the kids. So much to see and do. Kids get to ride animals and feed them as well. It also has a great gift shop with items that won't break the bank.

We visited the zoo on the last day of the 2015 season. There were a few animals that were indoors and out of sight but for the most part we could enjoy. The sky ride was an additional $6 but was a neat way to see an overhead of many different animals and parts of the park. It also helped... More

I went to this zoo and was a little disappointed that a considerable number of animals were put inside because of the cold and was not out for viewing. Visitors should have been notified before purchasing tickets. For the first time in my life, I heard the very loud, mighty roar of the Lion, numerous times. By the time I... More

Southwick's is bigger than it looks, clean and the animals look healthy and well treated. They have a reasonable variety of species and informative signage. The mechanical rides are great for kids who have grown tired of the animals and the SkyRide is a nice opportunity for adults to have a seat and see the zoo from a different perspective.... More

Loved this zoo. I would choose this zoo over flying to san diego anyday. Perfect size, not too big, but still a lot to see. Awesome sky ride to see everything from up high. The petting zoo and deer feeding area is better than any other zoo i have been. Lots for kids to do including some rides which are... More

Very nice zoo to spend the day. knowledgeable staff who seem to enjoy speaking with the guests. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is how the charge for the extras. $6.00 for train ride, $6.00 for Skyfari, $1.00 for mechanical rides or an extra $16.00 for all. Simply raise price $2.00 per person and allow everyone... More
