About
Vine Lake Cemetery continues to evolve. From its geological beginnings, it has a varied terrain and natural beauty. Human ideas about death, landscape design, and visitor needs have continually transformed the cemetery since its founding in 1651. Through it all, it has remained a peaceful and dignified open space for the dead to rest and for the living to visit and enjoy.

Wonderfully kept cemetery

I enjoy walking there and reading all of the stones and meeting some of the same people time after time.
The town of Medfield does a great job keeping the cemetery beautiful.

Beautiful place to walk
Nov 2016 • Solo
Vinelake is a well kept cemetery.
I love walking there and I often see the same people there doing the same.
It is a shame that dogs are not allowed. The people who break that rule are the same people who do not curb their dogs.
It is a shame.

Peaceful and pretty
Sep 2016
This is a gorgeous cemetery, with a man-made pond where children and adults fish. There are so many varieties of wild-flowers and flora it's a gorgeous place to sit and think, or if you're artsy-fartsy, like me; bring your art supplies and sketch.

Great roads and paths for walking. The stones are interesting to read. Great landscaping. The pond is stocked for fishing. Good for biking. Enter from main street or side street.

Final resting place?
May 2016 • Couples
This is a lovely and historic cemetery, dating to the late 17th century. (There are still spaces available.) It is topographically interesting and laid out in an appealing way. There is a pond and pretty shaded areas and it seems quite well maintained by the Vine Lake Trust.

Step back in time.

The term "Hidden Gem" is overused but this really is. If you live locally and have never been here you are missing sometime special. The Cemetery is divided into sections with the old section near Route 109 containing graves and memorials dating back to the 1600's! The old headstones are works of Art. The newer section is beautifully landscaped, it contains a section for Civil War veterans and the lake is stocked for fishing in the Spring. There is a memorial to patients from the closed Medfield State Hospital. A peaceful place for a walk. The cemetery is lovingly cared for by The Vine Lake Preservation Trust and I suggest visiting their website http://www.vinelakepreservationtrust.org before you visit.
