This is the fort from which my ancestors defended the USS Constitution when, during the War of 1812, she was pursued by *two* British frigates. Stunning views, good tours of the powder magazines that were dug into the ramparts, great place to watch the sailors....More

What a lovely place to visit, wow. The views are beautiful, and if you go past the fort there's a free viewer thing that allows you to see the ships and islands close up. Even the walk to get here is pretty. This is a...More

A historical location that has a gorgeous view and plenty of space to read or play with kids. A stationary binocular stand will let you look out at the lighthouse for free.

Fort Sewall offers wonderful views of the harbor. I was lucky enough to catch a rainbow here. A great place to sit and watch the harbor traffic.

Whenever we visit Marblehead, we always take a walk to Fort Sewall. Some of the old fort remains, but it's really the views that make this a must-see place. In good weather, watching sailboats and motor boats sail in and out of the harbor is...More

There isn't much left of the fort but the location is fantastic. You get great views of the water around you. Bring a picnic and sit on a bench!

Great views of the harbor, lighthouse and ocean. You can see all the boats and some houses on the Neck from here. Good place to watch the sunrise. Also a great place to play frisbee.

Interesting historical facts, spectacular view of the bay. Easy access, a close walk from the Inn. If you travel with your dog, a lot of locals take their pet there.

All of my Marblehead reviews start the same. Marblehead is like a wonderful little jewelry box. By foot, walking just a few blocks... By car, driving just a few miles... You can see and feel all of the jewlels. Ft. Sewall is a place you...More

I think off-season on leash it's ok, but am mot sure. Across the street is Riverhead, where dogs seem to be allowed.
