Parked in a small public lot near the end of Front Street and had an easy walk to the fort. Doesn't take much time, but it was interesting to read about the history of the fort, walk the embankment and savor the views. Shady and breezy on a hot summer day. Benches to sit and read or picnic, too.

This is always worth a stroll around, so steeped in history, some renovation works going on, but do not let that stop you going soon.

A great spot to get a true sense of Marblehead history and a wonderful spot to watch the sun rise on a pristine August morning

Walk along the harbor in Marblehead and you will come to Fort Sewall. It's been built and rebuilt many times since it was first constructed in the 1600's. Many park benches and a few historical plaques. The bathrooms were is such bad shape my wife went in and came right back out. They need attention.

Walking up to and along the sea walls to see endless views of the harbor and beyond is amazing. Last evening following a brief rain shower, a large rainbow arched against the harbor entrance. From the further east point, I could see six lighthouses mirrored against the twilight sky. Very safe, other walkers - some accompanied by their dogs.

On the western side of Marblehead this fort and grounds was a great place to walk to and sit and just chill out. With great views over the bay there was always something to watch, a nice number of seats and toilets were close at hand.

I wish that there were warning signs that you cannot drive into the park. I was following GPS when I discovered that the road I turned into for the Fort was blocked. There should be a sign stating that you need to park in the lot and walk up to the park.

This is a must-do stop when visiting Marblehead. The views are fantastic, the picnic area and walking paths are free, and there is parking available, though limited.

Looks like a mound of earth at the tip of Marblehead, the fort was built in 1642. The entrances to the kitchen, dungeon and other spaces within the fort are blocked off, maybe to be restored? The view of the harbor is worth the drive out, Three brass plagues by the entrance detail the fort's history,
