Enjoy now, as pond maybe dredged to take out PCB and that will make a mess. Lovely views of October mountain.

Another place that was hard to find... there is no street address for a pond... but worth it once we arrived.

Many trails in this area but some of them take you on multi-use areas so be careful. Great place to put in your kayak and observe the birds and other wildlife. Have bug spray and water. Bears are frequent here. Along with beaver, blue heron, geese, ducks and eagles. (many others birds) If will be a sad day when they... More

Easy park at the end of Housatonic Street in Lenox near the RR station. Water level route around "pond" for abnout 3/4 mile then uphill to camp sites all on dirt road.

Very easy to launch your canoe or kayak right at woods pond. You can paddle up river and explore all of the little inlets and look for beavers and a variety of birds including bald eagles. The pond does get a lot of plants/weeds that grow over the summer but there is still a good path to paddle up the... More

Did a 90 minute tandem kayak paddle on the Housatonic River upstream down to Wood's Pond. Current was modest and the river was quiet with only a few birds and turtles in view. The pond itself is somewhat choked with vegetation.

I am a Berkshire resident year round and I have been meaning to go to this pond for forever. The beauty doesn't start until you get upstream. As you get past the pond to the left under the foot bridge and get into the river system. It's like no other place. We (My wife and I) were met by Hundreds... More

Across the tracks from the scenic railway and at the base of October Mountain State Park the boat launch is great for kayaking on Woods Pond and up the Housatonic River. Lots of wildlife and views up this peaceful spot. Kayaks can be rented at Arcadian shop or other places.
