Saw the B52's with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Sat in the Shed (covered seating area) Section 6. The sound was amazing! Beautiful venue and grounds with great views. A night of the orchestra can be long, but accompanied by a rock band makes it magical. No one sat down, everyone danced the whole night. Staff were all friendly and helpful.... More

Grab a chair or blanket depending on your age and bring a picnic with some wine for the lawn. Fabulous no matter what the weather. When rain threatened we got to move under the 'shed' to open side seats until we could return to our wine and cheese out under the stars! Thanks for the consideration and a great time.

Yearly trip to the Berkshires to see James Taylor at Tanglewood is one of the highlights of our very busy year! Beautiful grounds..people watching at its best as people set up everything from a simple blanket on the grass, to a full candlelit table for 6 under the stars. We were lucky enough to experience both this as well as... More

This was my third visit to Tanglewood. The first was about twenty years ago for a wonderful klezmer concert featuring Itzhak Perlman. I had a seat in Koussevitzky Music Shed, but I noticed that the folks on the lawn were having a better time with their picnics and more casual seating. I've been back for "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!"... More

While visiting friends in the Berkshires, we were invited to the James Taylor 4th of July concert at Tanglewood. Coming from L.A., we enjoy outdoor concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and the Greek Theater. This was similar, except that the majority of the seating is on the expansive lawn. The property is lush and green, filled with shade trees. There... More

Check Tanglewood's website for dates and times of the free walking tour that lasts about one hour. The tour covers the grounds and history. The tour is given by a volunteer. Take time to stop at the Visitor's Center and view the old photos. Lucky for us, the day that we took the tour they were rehearsing "Aida". You might... More

Went to the pops with twin 10 yr olds. Great time had by all. Kids enjoyed the swing dancing and the orchestra. Keith Lockhart kept everyone dancing and engaged. I recommend bringing your own wine, however the picnic basket food i had ordered was well worth it.

Awesome atmosphere, Great show. Music lovers of all ages and types are welcome here. Boston Pop Swing Orchestra not only played well but also encouraged audience participation and dancing.

Wonderful, relaxing time. Peaceful mountain views accompanied by great music by the Boston Symphony Orchestra or the Boston Pops. Bring a picnic and relax on the lawn.

I was so looking forward to Boston Pops and B-52's but Tanglewood disappointed. First no beer at seats. Second you could not get to your seats between any songs and had to wait for a seating break. And the acoustics were just bad. B-52's were cool. Tanglewood and there rules bad. So disappointed.
