Great venue for music. We visited in July and saw James Taylor - great concert. Have also gone to hear the Boston Symphony Orchestra while sitting on the lawn. Just recently, we drove out to Tanglewood as I have fond memories of summers spent listening...More

Sundays on the lawn with a picnic before the BSO performance; July 4 with James Taylor has become a tradition; Great acoustics in the shed and the smaller Ozawa Hall. Music is gorgeous; walk around because the view of the Stockbridge Bowl is also beautiful.

Music at Tanglewood is a Berkshires tradition. Invited by friends, we loaded up our picnic chairs and blanket, gathered food from a number of local purveyors, and made our way to the Tanglewood grounds. The social aspect with friends was terrific. Even if we'd gone...More

We go every year to hear the Boston Pops orchestra. We sit on the lawn with our lawn chairs and have a wonderful lunch that we manage to pack. The music is delightful and relaxing. The cost is very reasonable without buying tickets in advance.

Even though performance season had ended and none of the gift shops of food pavilions are open, we were able to stroll the spacious and well kept grounds on a beautiful summer day with no admission charge. Not sure, but looks like you might still...More

It's very casual. I like to wear pants (jeans) to avoid potential Mosquito bites.
