It was our very first time visit to the Festival. We arrived at Tanglewood Festival before the gate opened, so I got a wonderful parking spot close to the gate. As soon as the concert ended, we headed to the parking lot quickly so we beat the traffic. After that, driving back to the hotel was a breeze EXCEPT when... More

Treat yourself to this beautiful experience. This incredible house and grounds embody the greatness and beauty of an age when Edith Wharton was at the peak of her gifts.

Have been going to Tanglewood for nearly 30 years always a delight ... Great music , wonderful grounds , pleasant helpful staff. Don't miss Tanglewood concerts if you travel to this area, go early, explore the grounds, get lawn admission, bring a picnic in good weather ... it's a tradition. Stay and see the many other area attraction along with... More

It was our first time at Tanglewood, the final night of a Contemporary Music festival at Seiji Ozawa Hall. Truly transcendent vocals by countertenor Daniel Moody highlighted Benjamin's "Dream of the Song", whose abstract strains could only have been pulled off by an impeccable orchestra and female chorus, here the Lorelei Ensemble. Similarly, Messiaen's accessible "Harawi", rests precariously on masterful... More

If you are ready to sit back and relax and listen to the music, this place is for you. Bring a picnic lunch and some wine.

This is our 2nd or 3rd time here. We go because we have friends in the area. We love the music both classical and pop; but really? If you don't put up the big bucks to sit inside where the floor is packed dirt and dirty, not inclined (so you are basically staring at a head or the back of... More

Tanglewood is a must see for any music lover. The Boston Symphony afternoon concert was outstanding! It was almost 90 degrees the day we were there, but under the shed it was okay with a light breeze. Highly recommend getting the tickets for a seat over lawn seating if it's hot. Overall - a must do for music lovers.

Get there early so you can park in main lot - otherwise you are in a field that is a across the street and on uneven ground. Get in line at gate early so you can get your preferred spot on lawn. Not many large trees and everyone runs for the shade, OR, bring a a beach umbrella - these... More

This was our 4th visit to Tanglewood, and we have another scheduled for this weekend. The sonatas at Ozawa hall were wonderful and, although we sat on the lawn, the music was clear and vibrant. A must-see if you come to visit the Berkshires! Don't miss Tanglewood.
