An Incomparable Concert Venue

Tanglewood is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful settings in the world to hear a concert. Go early, picnic on the lawn, but get seats in the shed to really enjoy the music.

Tanglewood is an experience that should be repeated as often as possible. Our visit was for a performance by the BSO and Yo Yo Ma so of course the crowd was enthusiastic. Acoustics in the Shed are wonderful and the evening was magical. I was especially appreciative of the escort service for disabled folks (I was in a leg brace).... More

If you haven't been, you must go. Nothing like the Boston Symphony Orchestra (and other invited performers/musicians) in an outdoor venue (can sit on the grass, bring your own goodies to eat/drink, or sit under a covered roof) where music fills a beautiful park-like space with vistas and well-maintained grounds. A visitor's center speaks to its history. An excellent venue... More

My wife and I were there twice on our vacation in the Berkshires. Once to just take the place in and the second was to hear the Boston Symphony with Yo Yo Ma. Great venue for both.

Tanglewood is a unique venue and absolutely worth a visit. Over the past few years they have diversified and now offer something for everyone. Be sure to plan well ahead to get tickets and to reserve an inn. Bring your picnic dinner or check out the local shops for takeout food and wine....or check the website for on site food... More

It's hard to explain what it is like sitting in such a beautiful place that takes you back in time when life moved at a different pace. The Boston Symphony Tanglewood orchestra was fabulous. The views of the Berkshires was stunning. One can truly feel inspired here.

Not a great set up in the Pavilion. (If you had lawn seats it would be nicer as far as -lawn/picnic/own chairs, food, beverages including alcohol versus their very uncomfortable, run down seats in the pavilion. Very expensive for what you get! Our box seats had obstructions. Not to mention, they have designated areas ONLY to drink beer or wine... More

We come to the Berkshires yearly from NY. This year again, the highlight was time spent at Tanglewood. First we saw a Baroque Opera Recital at Ozawa Hall done by the terrific visiting Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra from the SF Bay Area. Then, as we were leaving Saturday afternoon, we attended the pre-recital talk and then rehearsal of the Boston Symphony... More

We took in a performance at Seiji Ozawa Hall a few days ago and it was just beautiful. It was the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra from San Francisco. The acoustics in the hall are perfect. It is a beautiful piece of architecture. The campus of hundreds of acres is a beautiful summer scene. No visit to the Berkshires is complete without... More

We had a great concert experience listening to Train and Andy Grammer. Acoustics were terrific and the show was terrific. Been to this venue several times--never disappointed. One recommendation would be that the screens be enlarged and increased so better views can be seen of the performers on the stage for all who enjoy viewing from the lawn.
