About Catboat Rides
Catboat Rides offers fun and affordable sailboat excursions and charters in Hyannis, MA. Our boat, the 'Eventide', is a Catboat class of sloop rigged sailboat, an authentic traditional local design. She is 34 feet long, has a wide 10 foot beam and a mast 38 feet tall, assuring a steady, smooth, and comfortable ride. We get much closer to coastal attractions than other Hyannis excursion boats. We have a well stocked bar and galley onboard. Our dock is at 146 Ocean St. Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Follow ferry signs to Hy-Line Ocean Street Dock(Not South Street Dock!) Turn left into metered parking lot immediately after 2 large signs for Hyannis Harbor Cruises and Spanky's Clam Shack Restaurant (across from Hyannis Holiday Motel).

I have sailed on the catboat many times since 1992 always had a lot of fun. The last time I was on it was in 2016 with my now ex wife. Is the catboat still in business anymore website is gone no reviews since last year. I am thinking of visiting Cape Cod next year. Really enjoyed Captain Marcus and crew

I use to love this boat ride until I was bumped when I made a reservation for the 4th Fire Works cruise the excuse was I didn't pay in advance and they had people with cash paying who took our spots. I was camping in Brewster a little for for me to go to pre pay and then drive back only to have to drive back for the cruise. The following year we pre paid only to get down to the to boat to see a sign trip cancelled. When I try to get my money back I was told they would issue me a gift certificate. Now what am I going to do with this when I'm going home the next day. Very shady outfit. On the plus side I discovered the park right beside the marina and you can see the fireworks from there for FREE.

The captain/owner took our Deposit and scheduled a burial at sea for my father-in-law. We flew family in from out of state and 20 of us drove over 2 1/2 hours to Hyannis. We waited on the dock for over an hour (no boat anywhere in sight). We finally were able to reach the owner and he said he forgot then admitted it was scheduled in his book. He could not help us find another option as his boat was on "dry dock". According to the tourism center his boat had been on "dry dock" for sometime. He said he would refund our money but has not. My entire family was devastated. Who blows off a burial then scams you for the money. This company has other complaints on other review sites. This unfortunately was not the first time he scammed people. His voice mail box is full, but he will pick up for unknown numbers so PLEASE do not book.

Sailed on the Cat boat, an 1930ish wooden sail boat. Captain Marcus Sherman was a skilled sailor, shouting out warnings if crossing wakes of larger boats, answering questions anyone may have had. 1st Mate Jen was very knowledgeable, worked the sails quickly with skill, and still had the time and patience to include two young children in the experience. It was a beautiful day, the seas were calm the wind the direction of Captain Marcus liking, all and all a great sail, well worth the cost. I will be back at the Cape and will do this again.

After waiting around for 3 hours the tour was cancelled on us because of lack of people. He needed 2 more people. Wasted our time. We would have taken the harbour tours earlier and gone on to do something else instead we lost most of a day. Poor way to run a business. If you offer something it should be offered regardless of how many people show up
