its a boat ride to the vineyard

So who really cares how well appointed the boat is. Just a bit expensive to travel a car across.. but its the Vineyard and its worth it.

I live within whistle hearing of the Hyannis Terminal of The Steamship Authority. I can see their watercraft entering and leaving Hyannis Harbor and pulling up to the dock. I took the opportunity to take a day trip to Nantucket at the end of the Summer of 2016. The high speed ferry makes the trip across Nantucket Sound seem like... More

We took the ferry to Martha's vineyard and the 60 minute sail was great. We didn't know that we had the option to ferry our SUV as well so we had to take the buses to get around at Martha's.

My family and I grew up in Martha's Vineyard, We have since moved "off island" and occasionally go home to see the old stomping grounds. There are 2 options to travel to the Vineyard. We always choose the Steamship Authority because of speed, efficiency, friendliness, and cleanliness. Parking is off site with comfortable and spacious buses.

Easy to book. Ferry ride was good but Parking is a headache. Not allowed on actual property. Drove to parking lot recommend and it was closed. Had to drive 20 mins out of our way to the other one to be transported to ferry and back after.

We took the ferry to Nantucket for the day and it was an efficient service. We took the 09:15 hrs boat that was a 2.25 hours in length and the sun was out so we were able to enjoy the great weather. We sat outside on the outgoing trip, the chairs and tables are nailed down but I would imagine... More

The ferry to Nantucket from Hyannis was super simple. It would have been nice for the cafe on board to offer more healthy options, but overall, the experience was just fine.

Fun ride to Martha's Vineyard. Long line to board moves fairly quickly. I always go up top and hang out on the rail to watch the scenery. The inside can get humid and crowded. I prefer the fresh air. There is food on board. Also, an elevator for the disabled. Staff is friendly and helpful.
