Trip Report: Fish Chowda and other Tales from the Cape (8 Replies)
Well, as promised I found some great fish chowder on the cape. If you'll recall shortly before I left I asked if anyone knew a good place for fish (not shellfish) chowder. All I got was a recipe (and a darn good one) -- thank you, yellowbird -- but I didn't want to cook on vacation. So I found a few: Seafood Sam's in Yarmouth. As the regulars will know it's a bit of a dive. You order at the counter, then find a seat and they bring you your food. Fish chowder was great. The Boxed...More

Is Cape Cod Scenic Tours still in operation? I looked on their website and it said they're taking some time off for the 2018 season. Is there another tour company comparable to it?

Suggestions for girls' trip (5 Replies)

We're staying in West Yarmouth, and will have a car to get around. One day we are taking a tour with Cape Cod Scenic Tours, and one day we plan to take the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard. If anyone has suggestions for "must see" places, please let me know. We like shopping, history, people-watching and eating out. I am sure it is probably illegal or...More

The Cape Cod tour folks will supply you with ideas of other things that you can do and you can google Cape Cod and see what appeals to you so I'll just mention one delicious bargain. If you are around on Tuesday night then check out Embargo Restaurant on Main St. in Hyannis. That's the night when the hot Tapas that you will see on their menu are 1/2 price. Dine inside in the sophisticated restaurant or outside on the terrace and people watch too. Brazilian Grill, also in Hyannis, is a meat...More
