Visiting this chateau and gardens makes for a very nice couple of hours. The gardens are beautiful, with large ponds, hills, and a nice little walk among a medieval garden with aromatic herbs. The chateau itself is a nice change from the outdoors walk, but nothing spectacular. The fact that entrance is free is a nice plus.

My 20-year-old son (who lives in the US), parents (who live in Paris area) and myself (who lives in the US too) went to visit the ground of this castle as well as the castle itself. The walk is very pleasant among very nice flowers and gardens, and around water body. The visit inside the castle is also nice and instructive. On top of that, everything is free So what not to like? One can also learn stuff about bees and even buy some good local honey. Definitely worth it.

A beautiful location with intriguing architecture from several periods and superb terraced gardens with water parterre. Probably best to wander round by yourself if possible we took the guided tour which was both exhaustive and exhausting and could have down without the long hot climb up to the later eighteenth century chateau. Still the views were good and our guide very informative with a strong accent on the modern uses to which the land is being put with good environmental principles.

We ended up there almost by coincidence. But what a surprise!!! First of all: entrance is FREE. Opening hours are limited, but we were lucky. We were there on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. Yellow, red, brown, green and deep blue sky. Beautiful historic buildings. The garden is a mixture of the traditional french garden, with symmetrical patterns, and an English garden. And as if the weren't enough, you can also visit the ground floor of the castle. All for free.

We visited the castle in June 2016. It is perfectly restored and worth a visit. Only guided tours are available. Check the time of the tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the castle and could frame it in Frech history in general.
