A nice little visit
Oct 2021 • Couples
We had a wonderful visit. My husband and I did the wine tasting and the owners were wonderful explaining each wine. We left with a bottle of their cranberry wine and a recipe to use it for the holidays.

Disappointed

Nothing exciting about this place in the back of a warehouse. Don’t waste your time. If you you’ve experienced wineries you will want to pass on this one.

Hidden gem with fantastic wine
Aug 2021 • Couples
We found this little winery on our last day on the Cape. It is in an industrial park, as it’s a wine producer (not a vineyard). They have done an excellent job making an industrial building beautiful inside, with wood walls, wine antiques and wine barrel tables for the tastings. Our tasting was led by a delightful gentleman from the Azores, he explained the wines, the grape source (from Napa valley) and overall really engaged us in wine discussion. We’ve been to a lot of wine tastings in PA and Virginia, and enjoy wines when we visit Europe, and we were so pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the First Crush wines. Really smooth, balanced tastes, high quality wines. We did a premium tasting with cheese plate and brought 4 bottles home with us. Their logo is really clever, and they have an interesting co-op where people can buy into the wine production and help with the wine processing. We had a great time, and would highly recommend a visit.

NEVER AGAIN! STICK WITH TRURO VINEYARDS UP THE ROAD!
Jul 2021
We WERE NOT impressed with this place. But since I saw it advertised in the local paper, I thought we could try it. Husband does not drink, and it seemed to be quite the turn off to the owner who proceeded to serve me. Never went into any great detail with each wine, and actually seemed quite curt with us. Thought his attitude was a little snarky when I was told the proper way to try the various wines. I know what I like, and a little encouragement would have been appreciated.
I enjoy Truro Vineyards, and this place could not compare. Very little attention given to us. We will not be back!

Pleasantly surprised
Jul 2021
We stopped here while biking. It is in an industrial-looking area (not a vineyard…they get their grapes from CA) but had wine barrel tables w/chairs set up in outside covered tent area for tasting. Cute indoor area with a few small items for purchase. Our server was friendly and seemed excited to share the wines and her knowledge. Saw some prior poor reviews, but this is a coop & relatively new endeavor, and we (friend and I) felt wines were very good, and will most likely get better with experience. Personally, I enjoyed the dry white mixed with local cranberries.

Because this was during COVID restrictions, the website said a reservation was necessary. I called to inquire 3 weeks in advance for a reservation for 7. They were full but the owner said she’d let me know if they could accommodate us. She asked me if it was a special occasion and I said we were celebrating a friend’s 50th that weekend. No special requests of any kind were made, nor wanted. Several days later, she called back and said she could fit us in. Amazing service so far. We arrived and were seated at a table off to the side. Shortly, one of the winery coop members came over as our server with a weirdly long stay at our table introducing himself. We got the standard menus that said a 6 wine (maybe 5, I can’t recall as this was a few weeks ago) tasting with glass was $20. Great. Our server came over again and said that because we were a group, we all had to have the same wines. Huh? I have been to wineries across the world. You choose your wines on your own. Always. What do they care what bottle they’re pouring from? It’s ten steps from the bar. Ok, so we are flexible and there to enjoy each other’s company. We chose whatever we chose, together, it was fine. The pouring spout, as others have mentioned, is flawed at best. Some friends had a normal tasting pour, myself and one other friend got a couple of tablespoons. No complaints because again, it’s about the company. Our server continued to stay at our table for uncomfortably long periods of time, even though the time between each pour was too short. Finally we were ready to check out. The check indicated that our tasting was $27 ea rather than the $20 on the menu and the glass was not included (the menu said it was). I asked to speak to the manager who came over. I asked why we were being charged more than the regular cost and even then couldn’t take the glass (granted nobody cared about the glass, it’s the point not the item). She said it was because we had a ‘special event’ and had taken the server’s time for an hour+. I said that I had made a reservation simply for 7 people and in no way requested or wanted the awkward extra attention. She then said that only brides are normally allowed to take the glass home in a group reservation. I don’t even know what to say about that except have you EVER been to a quality winery? I guess not. We paid our $27 ea (ridiculous for the quality of wine, location, and overall experience), left our glasses (which we didn’t care about at all but the menu literally said it was included) , and headed out for a better adventure. Presumably if you own a winery, you are well traveled, accustomed to exceptional hospitality, and understand excellent customer service because you have experienced it regularly. Not here. It killed me to write this because I am a huge supporter of small businesses on the Cape. But it is SO easy to run a tasting room and not screw it up and yet here we are.

Best local wine in my experience.
Mar 2021 • Couples
We had the owner pouring. He clearly takes pride in quality and cost to create wine and I enjoyed the finesse of the reds that were poured. Well done tasting all around. Is it a cheap tasting? Perhaps no, but the quality is far above anything I have experienced in multiple local vineyards in Massachusetts and Connecticut. We grabbed 2 wines to go and were top notch.

Not a great experience

As others have commented, the lack of friendliness is off-putting. We wanted to try wine and we literally felt like we were bothering them. And the wine is MEH. Don't bother. The owner needs a crush course in customer service.

Save your money!

Waste of time and money. If you enjoy sitting in an Industrial parking lot sipping wine then this is the place for you. They don’t even try to make it pretty with flowers or plants. Not the friendliness people unless you want to join their co-op. Other wine tastings I’ve been to let you bring in a snack to enjoy your wine with, not this place. You have to purchase their cheese & crackers. Very stingy with their pour!
