Great spot for kids to learn about marine life and for the family, or couples, to hang out on the gorgeous dock (same one used in the filming of the Perfect Storm). It's a very active harbor and the center gives you a good overview of the oldest seaport in the U.S. There is also a diving museum (very stinky)... More

Although I didn't buy anything, the gift... More

If you purchase a sailing trip, the Maritime Museum admission is free and very informative, up to date, an eye-opening. Gift shop is refreshing with new merchandise. We had a nice time at the museum. My children loved the interactive exhibits. The staff was terrific. We left our camera behind and they were wonderful about calling us back to let us know that they found it.

Fun way to spend a little time and learn about ships and ship building, see some tools of the trade and view a few tanks of local crustachians and fish. The best part is the long dock behind the building where you can watch the boats come & go.
