Picture yourself relaxing on the deck of this beautiful 65- foot schooner as she sails out of Gloucester harbor on a light southwesterly breeze. Join us for a two-hour sail and get a taste for what it was like to sail on a fishing schooner a hundred years ago. Help the crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Gloucester's coastline. Some of our weekend public sails feature music. We offer group rates. And we specialize in private charters for weddings, corporate entertainment, teambuilding, birthdays and more. The Lannon is a great place for a party!

The captain and crew love what they do and know every inch of the boat...because they helped build it. We’d guess that they’ve made 100’s of trips out of the slip, but they made us feel like our trip was special...because it was for us. We loved that they were engaging and patient with questions they have probably answered countless times. The family story of building and naming the boat is fascinating. We lucked out on a picture perfect day. We also felt that they did an excellent job of allowing for social distancing on the boat, so we felt very comfortable while on the boat.

We recently chartered Schooner Thomas E. Lannon as a surprise for my eighty-eight year old father. The entire experience was fantastic. The Captain and crew were top notch- very attentive and professional, considering these difficult times. We couldn’t have asked for a better day; beautiful scenery, wonderful hospitality, and a mean Rum Punch as well. This is our fourth sail with this crew and we can’t wait to come back!

The owner and crew are very hospitable and comfortable with the visitors sharing time on the beautifully maintained Schooner. I particularly liked seeing the documentation and hearing the history of the boat's construction in Essex. The paint and finishes are second to non for quality and you can see the love for the boat by the crew and owner. Very Special Time and We will Return for another Sail

Beautiful August evening, professional and friendly crew, but due to lack of wind, we motored or, mostly, stayed adrift. Not the crew’s fault, of course, but here’s where a crew monologue or other simple engagement (even complimentary beverages!) would have been welcome. An hour in the Harbor is a long time to spend adrift, especially at the price for four people, even discounted. Otherwise, a first-rate sail.

We control most aspects of our sails, unfortunately wind isn't one of them. Glad you found the crew professional and friendly. The commonwealth of Massachusetts doesn't allow us to give out complimentary drinks.

We would highly recommend a ride on the Lannon....We have been on several sails but our favorite are the evening music cruises. Local artists play and sing in a relaxed atmosphere. the water is calm as you sail the beautiful Gloucester Harbor, gentle breezes fill the sails as you skim over the water, the famous Gloucester light illuminates the famous seascape as the sun sets, and the personable and capable crew laughed and joked with the passengers. Perfection! If you are lucky , you might also get a visit from the Captain's "pet" seagull.

Thanks for the wonderful review and recommendation. Music onboard is always a treat and we have some great locals that really love to be onboard and play. Our seagull friend Polly always adds some excitement when she shows up. We hope you can join us again sometime soon.

I went on a yoga cruise where we moored in the harbor for some rejuvenating yoga with Erin from Treetop Yoga, followed by a beautiful one hour cruise.
Heath and his crew could not have been more accommodating and informative about the area, the waterfront, and the amazing schoonerThomas E. Lannon, named after Heath’s grandfather. I will be returning for another sail with my family for sure.

would definitely do it every time we go out there. very nice area, the workers on the sail boat made you feel very comfortable and safe. restaurant's where great and it was also great they had refreshments on the sail boat.

Took my cruise with two friends and we enjoyed the perfect sail and weather!! Crew was exceptionally friendly and conversational. They take all Covid19 guidelines seriously - so don't forget your mask!! I definitively plan to return for another sail - with a bigger entourage to enjoy together! Note discount rate for seniors however full rate is still affordable and worth it for a 1.5 hour sail. Parking with ticket machine conveniently located along with a number of restaurants for pre or post dining.
Don't hesitate to do this - it's an escape to fresh air and open waters with a chance to meet their pet seagull who flies in for treats!!! Great photo opp!!

Had a wonderful cruise with the crew of Schooner Thomas E. Lannon on the 4th of July weekend. The crew was outstanding and was very concious of social distancing and wore mask appropriately. I highly recommend this sailing adventure

We took our two children (ages 12,11) on a full moon sail and really enjoyed the experience. The ease of booking, the clarity of website and the actual sailboat ride all exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend this experience to others!
