We found this beach by accident, we were lost!! So pleased we did, had a picnic by the bridge which crosses over onto the beach, the sand is lovely and fine and the views across the bay are amazing. A visit is definitely recommended.

Good Harbor is the most beautiful beach in Massachusetts if not in all of New England. In the height of the summer season especially on weekends parking is limited for non-residents...but there is parking at nearby Stage Fort Park with a shuttle to the beach!...More

Loved this beach. Beautiful views of gorgeous houses along the shoreline. You can walk out quite a ways before hitting deep water. Plenty of parking is available.

The beach was nice and had public facilities. It isn't a walking beach. Mostly just for swimmers or surfing. The neighbors whose houses line the beach are not friendly to tourists. There are a number of signs telling people to keep off their rocks or...More

We enjoyed walking up and down the beach. It was off season but got to see some surfers and sailboards. Met some nice people to chat with. Nice beach and across from our motel. Plan on returning same time next year.

The older I get the more I appreciate the beach and being able to go down to the water, no matter the season and just take it all in. This is my favorite non-summer beach. I love it in every other season when it's not...More

Beautiful beach for a not too long walk at the end of the day. Have to watch out for occasional broken glass (not beach glass).

Great beach if you can get a parking space, fills up early. Facilities including a snack shop. Island swimming area to the left at low tide.

I'm not sure; I believe you need a parking sticker or you need to pay @25.00-30.00 per vehicle and parking is limited so you need to get there early. I was able to go as I stayed at a hotel about a 15 minute walk to this... More

shuttles to Good Harbor Beach (2 Replies)
Are there any shuttles to Good Harbor beach, especially from the train station?

Below is a link to the thread in which I posted last year's information from the web on the shuttle from Stage Fort Park (not commuter rail station) to Good Harbor Beach (see post #6). Maybe someone else has more information. tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g60954-i1100-k4317… Note that in past years, shuttles have run on weekends from rail stops in Ipswich to Crane Beach and in Newburyport to Plum Island (though I don't think that one ran last year).

Acadia National Park and Coastal New England Roadtrip (2 Replies)
Hello All, My sister and I are planning a roadtrip to Acadia National Park and down through coastal New England. Here is the itinerary we have mapped out thus far, but I would really appreciate some feedback/advise or recomendations, as this will be our very first time to the New England coast. We are both foodies, love craft beer, good wine, biking, relaxing by the ocean, and crisp fall weather. We will be there for 8 full days and 9 nights in early/mid October. Day 1: Arrive in...More

Sounds like a busy trip. There doesn't seem to be much room to fit much else in, but since you mentioned your love for good food and beer I'll mention that Portland is renowned for it's restaurants and also is home to several small brewerys. Even if you don't have the time to spend in Portland for that, at least try to fit in a visit to Portland Head Light lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth (about 15 minutes from Portland). You could do this in the morning before heading to Bar Harbor.
