Gloucester Stage is small, approximately 175 very comfortable seats which guarantee an intimate experience. The players are mostly equity or equity eligible assuring professional acting. Our recent visit to see "The Last Schwartz" was a matinee and our first visit to Gloucester Stage. There were two acts with a 15 minute intermission where refreshments were offered for sale. Overall, a... More

went to see "every Christmas story ever told and then some" the show consists of 3 cast members doing a parody of traditional Christmas stories, very funny! the place itself is a small local theater, nice and clean. nice people working there. cant beat the price for the entertainment provided, now that I know this place exists I plan to... Last week my family attended a performance of, "Out of Sterno". Not only is the theatre a wonderful venue with excellent seating throughout, but the performance, casting and overall experience was simply outstanding! It's easy to get to and ample public parking is right around the corner (some on the street as well).

Good small stage and intimate venue. We were seeing a friend who was in a show there. Seemed like a nice place and we would probably go back again if they were doing a show with people we know or that otherwise interests us.

Friends and I attended the final night of a 7-day run of this show at Gorton Theatre. It was my first time visiting this sweet little theater in the heart of downtown Gloucester. The lobby is modern and spacious and I liked that they offered water and cookies for purchase on an honor system and "pay what you can." The... More

The Gloucester Stage has been around for 35+ years. and it consistently delivers high-quality, thought-provoking plays at very reasonable prices. The theater is small and set up in a semi-circle format with about 7 rows so you are close to the state. As with everything in Gloucester, the theater is close to the harbor (East Gloucester) and there are a... More

I've been to the Gloucester Stage Company several times over the years and it never fails to bring something interesting to the stage. Their production of "4000 Miles" had an excellent female lead but a less experienced juvenile lead. It was early in the performances and they were working out the kinks. However, the play was an Obie Winner and... More

My husband and I arrived in Gloucester for our four day stay on a rainy Sunday. Since beach/boating were out of the question we searched theater options and were lucky enough to see the final performance of 'Auld Ang Syne'. A terrific production! This is a small, intimate theater and there are no bad seats in the house. We will... More

My wife and I enjoy an Sunday afternoon performance of Jacques Brel is alive and well and living in Paris. This performance took some of the wonderful songs by Jacques Brel and treated the full house to 2 hours of pure delight. The venue is intimate and there is not a bad seat in the house. The company stayed after... More

Theatre has been around a long time and is a great way to be entertained on a warm summer evening. Acting is always excellent.
