Convenience to where I live, can go any time for free. I prefer the back parking area because of the dog walkers in the front area but the sky line in the front is beautiful and the open fields. Can walk all the way to the Marlboro pkg lot and Beebe Pond area also and cross country ski, ride horses in the past could be done. Some people bike the trails.

This park is large, with a huge open field and numerous trails for walking. A great spot to take your dog off leash. Also a small pond. The park has a couple different parking areas. The easiest entry is across the street from the 9 hole Millwood golf course.

Very friendly to dog walkers. Don't need a leash if dog is well behaved. Some people are not very good with their dogs, so be prepared for strange dogs running up to you. If your dog is skittish or wary of other dogs , this might not be soothing. If your dog loves to play with other dogs, this place could be good. It's up to the dog and the owner.

I come here regularly with my wife and kids and dog. It's a big open area with lots of hills, and also a wooded area with a pond. It's good for seeing leaves change, sledding, kite flying, or just hiking

We enjoy hiking and even trail running through all of the various trails in Callahan. Sometimes we even bring our dogs along to for the fun.

What a great way to spend a day in the woods. People do walk their dogs and not all are considerate.

This State Park is a large forested area in the Boston suburbs. There are plenty of walking trails and a good variety of plant life. It is a very popular place to bring dogs and one section of the park always has several dogs playing together. If you're not a dog person, there are plenty of trails away from that area. It's a good place to get into nature without driving too far.

Love walking my dogs here. Not the best for small dogs, but larger dogs can have a wonderful time off leash there.

This is a hidden gem. Perfect for an afternoon stroll in any season, An occasional pond, a place to sit, shady paths and never crowded. Walk alone, stroll with a friend or bring a dog to run.

Is this park suitable for a double stroller, so that I can bring my dog and two kids?
Is it dangerous to do a quick stroll alone in the night in terms of violent animals (bear, deer, etc) ?

I have not heard of any animal attacks at Callahan State Park. I would be more worried during the daylight hours when people have dogs off leash.
