Fun trip on a nifty ferry

We took the Island Queen from Martha's Vineyard over to Falmouth to stay at the Cape Cod Campresort. It was so much fun we hated to leave the boat.

Took it to Oaks Bluff which is really a tourist town. Good diversion for the day but get out of town on a bike once there and explore.

My grandkids love riding the ferry. They truly don't want to get off on the vineyard. I talk them into getting off for ice cream and coming right back. It is like a mini cruise. They love it and we do it every year. It is all about the ferry staff helpful and friendly. A must do!

The trip across the sound to Martha's Vineyard was very pleasant. Round-trip tickets are only $20 per person. After purchasing your tickets, you'll wait in a holding area for your boarding time. There are restrooms and a snack bar available while you wait, as well as covered seating. Hundreds of people will crowd this area just prior to boarding, but... More

Fast, on time and clean. Great way to spend the day at MV and come back at your leisure. 1st ferry of the day boarded immediately, no waiting in the coral.. And took off on time. Return ferry was no problem either and did not seem overcrowded for a Mid summer day in July.

Gets you to Martha's Vinyard and back. Nice ride. Quick. Major problem, and I mean major, is at MV, you and 500 more people stand in a paved area, sun beating down on you, or rain or whatever, without any shelter! Doesn't matter if your 70 or have a baby or anything! And you are supposed to get there at... More

I mean what's not to like about a day on The Vineyard. The boat was nice, and it took only 1/2 hour each way. The price was great. Will definitely use this ferry again.

This was an easy 30 minute ride to Martha's Vineyard. The Ferry was fine, but the lady at the ticket window was not very helpful with information. This was our first time to Martha's Vineyard or even the Cape, so we had questions as to where they were located. Her only answer was, "At the dock." She was not able... More
