YOU MUST DO THIS EXCURSION!!!! It is simply amazing!!! We booked this excursion through "Tours by James". Cost us only $50 and we took a speed boat to the island had our lunch included (which was delicious!) had an open bar and even visited a cigar factory on the way back. The only downside was the transportation was a little... More

This is such a tourist trap it's not even funny. During my stay at the resort the people here were hyping it up about how its a must see.. I stayed in Puerto plata and I decided to book it here cost me 90 bucks per person later I found a mall in the city that was offering the same... More

Incredible , awesome, beaytiful, but full, with more than 150 foreigners. Snorkel on the reef in poor condition, nobody cares or watches; tourists are not able to dive properly with proper instruction not to kick or touch the reef .. Mangroves were filled with trash and no marine life.

We took the VIP option. We went on a small cruise boat with snacks and continuous beverages (and a lot of alcohol). We made a nice stop in the middle of the ocean where the water was shallow. In Paradise Island, you could swim between the fish and snorkel among the coral. Very nice! Lunch was somewhere else and in... More

When you are in the Dominican Republic, you absolutely MUST make the trip out to Punta Rucia and then on to Cayo Arena. It is just magical. Set on the edge of a huge reef, these tiny, constantly changing sandbar islands offer basic shacks for storing gear, and the most amazing snorkeling I have ever experienced. We went with Northern... In the way to Cayo Arena you can stop at the natural swimming pool right in the middle of the sea in a very extensive area of 3 feet of water and dip in there for a while . Cayo Arena disappears at night under the water and in the morning it's back. Depending on the season the "island" is... More

In my month long stay in Puerta Plata, recently, August , I have been to Paradise Island 2 more times (3) in total. And each time is better than the last. Fresh fruit, drinks, non-alcoholic, or rum. Feeding the fish from the coral reef, fruit, bread, always a treat. The trip through the mangroves always a great time.

Amazing day from start to finish. Speed boat, island and snorkelling were fantastic. Tour guide Miguel from Paradise Island Tours was great and everything well organised.
