The whole place was like one big pile of garbage. Broken glass, trash and the smell of burning rubber. Go 2km to the beach in the centre of the village and experience a truly amazing beach.

We were taken to this beach by friends who arranged a day visit to this beautiful beach. Have you ever wondered where local people go when the main beaches are filled by tourists, this is the place. WOW!!!! it is stunning. the most beautiful white sand, shallow warm water stretching for miles.

This beach was beautiful. We went there twice at high and low tide. our kids (2 and 4yrs old) loved it. they could walk around no float no problems, even at high tide. For us we would have liked there to be some deeper water, which it seemed there was down at the official parking area. But it's hard to drag two young kids away from the biggest kiddie pool they've ever seen.

The most lovely beach ever. The dance of Peace and tranquility that you feel when you are there is unique. Great for small kids due the water being smooth with very few waves. My favorite place to eat is stand #12, food is always fresh and the staff is friendly and helpful.

A fisherman's village beach enjoyed by the locals who are very friendly and relaxed. Beautiful white sand. I enjoyed walking there very much, especially at sunset.

This beach had its areas. There were some parts where I could see small fish really close to shore, I barely had my feet in the water but one area seemed to have some sort of sewer water flowing into the ocean. But this is where we took a small boat to paradise island. There were a lot of little places to eat but didn’t try anything because by the time I got back from the island it was dark and creepy.

Oh so beautiful. Shallow water that’s protected by the reef way out. The water is so clear you can see bottom. Not terribly sloped either.
If your in the area it’s well worth the journey to see!

We stopped here in our tour to paradise island. The beach was clean, clear waters and a gradual slope that made it nice for walking

While staying at the Riu Resort in Puerto Plata, a group of us went to visit Playa Ensenada for the day. My friends husband is form the Dominican Republic, so we hired two cars and travelled to the beach. Our group was a mix of us visiting form the UK and our friends and family that live in the Dominican Republic.

I will be honest, if you aren't staying near by it is quite a long drive but it is worth it when you get there. The beach has a large number of store front were you can hire sun loungers and tables, in addition to having fresh fish and other dishes prepared to order.

The sea is warm and you can literally walk a mile out and still be in shallow water, the beach is clean and you once you settle into a spot you don't get hassled. We brought our own alcohol which is common practice at the beach, we then purchased soft drinks and food form the store front we hired chairs and sun loungers form.

The beach has banana boats and sail boats for those of you that are adventures and if you keep an eye out, you will spies locals fishing, so if you like fish your dinner won't get any fresher, it is definitely worth a visit if you want to get off the beaten track and away form tourist traps to see what life on the island is really like.

We went to this place on a weekday and had ample space and choice of restaurants. The beach is breathtaking and actually one of my favorites. You have a spectacular view: ocean, long beach, mountains, hills and stones. With regard to food, there are lots of restaurants with a good menue to a reasonable price. The experience was simply enjoyable.

Besides, there are two roads leading to this place. Don't take, like we did, the bumpy one.
