There are actually two Hartleys Pork pies. One in Fall River, MA. and the other a few miles across the bridge in Somerset, Ma. Both claim to have the original recipe and both are very good. Always made it a habit to stop in and get pies on the way to work for lunch and larger ones to bring home for dinner. Hartley's was founded in 1900 and the pork pies were an interesting taste. I really liked the crust and the pork inside was good, but I would have preferred a little more seasoning. These are small high individual ground pork pies with gravy inside.Delicious rich crust.This pie shop claims to have the original recipe dating back a century ago. He sells out fast so if you want for lunch get there before 11:00 or you could see the "Pies all Gone" sign.

Over 100 years they have been making these tings. there is a reason that they lasted so long. The recipe is from the old English country pork pies. You will never find better anywhere. They also sell Chicken, meat,, chourico, and salmon. But, the natives know that the best is still the original pork. many of the local offices get... More
