If you have company, this is perfect cruise for relaxing time. You learn a lot from the captain as you slowly get to know the marshes, birds and fish. Kids over ten will appreciate it, not much younger. There are several trips a day. If you time it to a trip at high tide you get to go further. You... More

Was on this tour just this week and found it to be relaxing. It is a tour that can accommodate all age groups. When I called to make a reservation the day before the young woman was very helpful. There were several senior citizens (some with canes for stability) and the boat was a great option for them to enjoy... More

This was a relaxing, narrated cruise on the Essex River with views of the tidal basin, tidal beaches, salt marshes, and local wildlife. Easy access both on and off the boat as well as smooth waters make this ideal for young and old alike. There is ample, free parking right next to the dock, and an awning-covered waiting area which... This was our last stop of the day on a motorcoach tour with 55 seniors. We had chartered our own boat the Essex River Queen II. The day was perfect as we departed the dock at 2:15PM under clear sunny skies for a 90 minute cruise. Our narrator was Cliff who did an excellent job talking about all of the... More

Thank you to Essex River Cruises & their staff for providing us one of the best company outings we've had thus far! Our crew were Capt Sam and brothers, Powers & Spencer, all of whom provided great service which was attentive, efficient and friendly. The day was perfect as we headed out from their dock at 10:00am under warm, clear,... More

I love anything water related so when I decided to go spend a few nights in Gloucester and couldn't check in until 4:00 I went to see what could fill a few hours of my day...this jumped out at me and did not disappoint! The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us entertained. It is a 90... More

Took the river cruise in May while on an anniversary trip to Gloucester. It was a great way to enjoy the scenery in the surrounding area. Saw plenty of birds along the way and the weather was perfect. Great way to spend a few hours and the little town of Essex is fun to visit!

What better way to spend a summer's day! Great people and gorgeous views. Then go over to Tom Shea's or CK Pearls to slake your thirst at the bar:)
