Located very close to the Edgartown schools, the new library is architecturally very beautiful and houses the same wonderful collection of books, et al. Spacious floors invite one to browse and read. Very nicely done.

While not historic, the new library has everything including a lot more parking. The librarians are from the old location and they are all FANTASTIC. Tie in to CLAMS allows you to get anything pretty quickly. We LOVE the library. We are so happy that the original library funded by Andrew Carnegie is going to be used as a public... More

As of March 2016, the library has moved from the Carnegie building on Water Street to a new building on West Tisbury Road next to the school. The same wonderful staff is there to serve you in a clean and healthy building that still contains some of the furnishings that people will remember from the old building. A highlight is... More

The new library is now next the Elementary School on the Edgartown West Tilbury Road across from Edgartown Hardware. The old Library will become a visitor center and museum at some point in the future.

I love this library with it's private reading rooms with historic molding and windows. Such treasure. But go quick as someone thought it wise to build a bug new one on the edge of town. Yes more parking and space but wait....are we not among a digital age...was that necessary? I guess enough people thought so. I've been going here... More

At times it can get a bit frenzied in town and this darling and very functional facility offers a lovely respite from all the tourism and dining experiences found just outside its doors. If you are a card holder you will find a very satisfactory collection of books, DVD's, services, and activities at your disposal. Even if you do not... More

Very quaint, quiet and welcoming little place that brings back memories of libraries of the past, when we were children. There is nothing to dislike.

We spent a few hours reading books and enjoying the old (Carnegie) part of the library. The library will soon be moving to another location.
