I'm a Jersey shore fan so I don't really understand this narrow beach with unbearably cold water, small breakers and no boardwalk. Visually, it is attractive with the windswept dunes. In September when my friends were sun bathing on Jersey beaches, the people here were wrapped in blankets and shivering.

This may be the best beach on the island. Undertow is very strong not suitable for small children. Beach is clean and sand soft rocks only in the water. Great for laying out and taking the cooler for beverages and having a picnic.

This beach is really beautiful. It stretches to what seem to be like miles. There are no food, bathrooms, and life guard but the ocean is quite a site to see. The waves are powerful so not so great for a relaxing playing in water, but some enjoy trying to catch a wave. It's a great location for a cooler... More

Get there before noon and you will have no problem finding a spot. The beach is clean. There are lifeguards. The waves were sort of big, but manageable to get in and out of the water. It is at the end of the bike trail, which is perfect. Great place to spend a few hours.

The sand here is very comfortable, soft and fine, no rocks at all unless you walk into the water. The current is very strong, little children (7 and under) cannot go into the water on their own. Other than that, we had a great time and the kids still enjoyed playing in the water with adult supervision.

The South Beach is the longest cleanest beach on the island. Very easy bus access from Edgartown with frequent pick ups.

Clean beach. Always great waves and nice sand. Parking isn't bad too bad and handicap parking is set up well.

We took the bus from Edgartown to South Beach, which is convenient and easy (the bus comes back every 30 minutes in peak season). The beach is beautiful and we will be back next year.

Nice out of the way beach with a great surf, excellent transportation options, changing rooms, white sand, and unlike other beachs on the Cape, no rocks! Bring your own lunch, umbrella, and chairs and enjoy miles of Atlantic coastline and great waves to frolick in from sun up to sun down!

A favorite of many travelers, this beach has golden sands and wavy oceans to satisfy all beach-goers. There are no amenities so pack a cooler with food and drink for the day and head out to for a total beach day. There are changing rooms and toilets off beach and bus access is brilliant, with buses running from Edgartown every... More
