Very nice beach with some handicapped parking near the porta-potties. Generally a good idea to get there before noon, as the parking is along the road and you may have to park a ways away. Sports a dirt road to kayaking area to the right of the main entrance, to use you neyed to lower the pressure on your 4-wheel... More

This is a nice beach to spend an afternoon. It is a bit more crowded than East Beach on Chappy but less crowded than Inkwell in Oak Bluffs. This beach if free and does have lifeguards, if either is important to you. I would recommend visiting this beach while in Martha's Vineyard.

We don't normally come here as it is not as close to home as other beaches. We came with some friends and had a good time. This is an Atlantic beach so the waves are stronger than on the sound.

If you want action, this is the beach to visit. Sugary sands, high rolling waves, kid's and family paradise. Not for littles. Mind your suit bottoms and expect a few tumbles.

A beautiful beach where you can just sit and enjoy the beautiful ocean. The wave and swimming. And to just sit and enjoy the little ones having a great time

Broad fine sand beach, clean water, light crowds, and access by air...fly into Katama airport, park at the south end (be sure to pay the landing fee. They'll track you down, but it is WELL worth it)

South Beach is the best beach on the island for waves!!! Not great for small kids on a windy day as the surf can be tremendous but for older kids, so much fun!

This beach is beautiful! The water was almost as blue as the Caribbean (I didn't expect that). Big waves. Clean. Porta Potty area with changing rooms. Plenty of free parking.
