A pilots dream!

Being a private pilot that loves to fly and land on grass strips, the Katama Airfield is lovely. Great Restuarant and well maintained runways.

Take a scenic ride in a 1940-era WACO biplane trainer, piloted by some amazing professional pilots: Mike and Smitty. Both these guys have thousands and thousands of hours of flight time: biplanes, bigger props, military helicopters, commercial jet planes. Cruise around Martha's Vineyard from 1000 feet and see a lot! Feeling adventurous? You can also pay a bit more, and... More

breakfast has long lines, but they serve breakfast til 2 so go later. Plan on a leisurely trip, as it took us an hour to get served. The hash is good if a little dry (add ketchup and/or kimchi), the vegie hash with poached eggs is my favorite but it's curried so watch out if aren't a curry lover.

We flew in from NYC and out to Boston a few days later for something exciting. Friendly airport staff made our trips easy. The gusty and bumpy flight to Boston was an unreal small plane adventure !

The airfield was recommended to me and was one of the few grass strips which are on the approved list from my rental company back in Bedford. We picked it as an alternative to the main Martha's Vinyard airport and were very pleased with the runway and the help we got from the airfield staff. Identifying the runways from the... More

we gave a biplane ride as a gift to our 75 year old mother and aunt. It was on mom's bucket list. They had no idea until we arrived at the air field but quickly accepted the challenge and away they went. Smitty, their pilot was fantastic!!!!! His fun personality and wealth of knowledge about the island truly added to... More

Such a wonderful restaurant - the owner is a sweet heart friendly and a hard worker. They upgraded their menu this year having a much better selection and variety. It is always fun to watch the planes both arrive and leave... Usually there is a long wait but that's ok - the restaurant owner invested in some fun outdoor games... More

We love the airfield! My husband's father kept an airplane here. I recommend the thrilling biplane rides and the great food and view at the Right Fork Diner. My husband and I spend hours here watching the airplanes!

We were there when Obama was on vacation so we got to meet his secret service. We did the Chappaquidick Edgartown flight. It was so much fun seeing everything on a beautiful clear day. Seeing the beaches as well as our house was very cool. Will definitely do it again this summer

This small airport is fun for kids and aviation geeks. Small light planes land and take off on the grass. There is also an antique bi-plane that offers rides. On a recent visit we saw other interesting vintage airplanes landing and taking off. Kids of all ages love this place and the diner there only open in the high season... More
