This beautiful garden, Japanese in style, was designed by the architect Hugh Jones. It is one of the most popular sites on Chappy.

Not to throw shade on Mytoi that provides one of the few non water related activities on Chappy, but seriously this small garden is hardly an attraction. Certainly not #4 TripAdvisor. Get a grip. To get to Chappy one must wait in the ferry line,...More

You need a car or bike for this one. Take the Chappy ferry from Edgartown and go straight; when the road turns sharply to the right continue straight ahead on the unpaved road instead of making the turn. Shortly you'll be at Mytoi, an absolutely...More

A must stop for anyone who enjoys gardens. A lovely example of a Japanese garden. Nice variety of plants, shrubs and trees, with small ponds and brooks, and interesting walkways.

We brought our rented car to Chappy (less than five minute ferry ride; cost of $12 (car and one driver; $4/additional person). From the ferry take Chappaquiddick Road for 2.5 mi. When you get to a sharp right corner, stay on straight onto Dike Road...More

Nice little half-mile hike around the gardens. Quiet (we were the only ones there). I wouldn't go out of my way to visit but if you are on the island it is well worth stopping.

Beautifully maintained 3 acre garden, mainly managed by two ladies. While it may not be "Japanese" enough for some, we certainly felt the authenticity of the Zen spirit of the garden and that offered more than enough.

If you find yourself on Chappaquiddick, it is completely worth your time to take a contemplative walk around this gorgeous Japanese style garden, run by the Trustees of Reservations. First of all, it's free, it's beautiful year round, and there is magic to be found...More

On the plus side, this is free. But you get what you pay for. This is barely a garden and barely Japanese. It does have a faux tea house, a bridge over a brook, and a handful of bonsai-ish shaped trees, but the whole thing...More

You can rent a bike and take the Chappell ferry over and ride bike to Mytoi. You could walk but it may be a mile or so from ferry dock
