Fun Place to Visit, Especially with Grandkids

I've been to Green Briar twice. Once to attend a jam-making class, which was a lot of fun and a second time to show my granddaughters where Peter Rabbit was from!

This time I spent more time outside in the beautiful gardens and trails. The swans on the pond even came up close to us. Some live animals in the Green Briar Nature Center. There is a jam kitchen that wasn't being used when I was there, but you still could walk through it. The gift shop has lots of items... More

A wonderful treasure here in Sandwich. Beautiful property, wildflower garden, jam kitchen with classes year-round, bunnies and other little creatures to visit, walking trails and an amazing little gift shop. The staff is so friendly and well informed. It's a must for families with little ones!

This is a gem of an attraction off the beaten track in historic Sandwich. A garden center, jam kitchen, wildflower garden, gift shop and nature center steeped in the history of author Thornton Burgess of Peter Rabbit fame. Well worth spending an hour or so visiting while on Cape Cod.

We had a grand time there. We first visited there nature center where there was a camp going on. There were volunteer docents who told us about the animals especially the baby hedgehog and others. After visiting the animals and talking to the volunteer children we went to the house and took a tour and they had a GREAT gift... More

As part of the Thornton Burgess museum, the Nature Center and Jam Kitchen is a beautiful restful spot to stop and appreciate nature as it was intended. There are programs for kids and the historic Jam Kitchen is an interesting throw back to when food was prepared using traditional methods and stored at it's peak or you didn't have any... More

We stopped by on our way into Sandwich. Cute place, although the "jam kitchen" only operates at certain times. Grounds are pretty and great for a few pictures. Nature center would be good for younger children. My guess is that they have good programs that you can register for or take your children to. For tourists, it's probably worth a... More

Green Briar Nature Center was part of the Thornton Burgess (yes, the Peter Rabbit author) museum. The author's house is in the center of the village but closed to the public a few years ago for lack of funds to maintain it. Green Briar is a mile or two east of the main village of Sandwich. If you see a... More

My husband and I love history and jam, so this place was a hit! The staff was so nice and we felt very welcomed! The historical library and information was really great. We bought four Jams and they have all been delicious! The little nature center was also open which was very cute! Would recommend for families of all ages!
