Very crowded, rocky shore.
Aug 2021
This was a very crowded beach on a Sunday. There weren't any options for less crowded without walking a long way (and past a "private area". Felt like a melting pot of folks, which is fine but the music coming from bluetooth speakers was competing. There were a lot of seagulls, which makes me think food is not being packed out, or there are people feeding them.
If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet day at the beach, this is not the one to visit.

Oooh. How lovely. We got there at 9:45. Late. Got one of the last spots. $20. We were freaking out because it was sooo crowded then the tide went out and the beach became huge. The sand is nice. Good beach food and clean restrooms

Great kids beach!
Jul 2021 • Family
This beach is perfect at low tide! It’s great for little kids to play. Once the tides out it’s just soft sand with Little Rock’s to hurt toes. Many kids hunting for shells or crabs. Theirs a expensive food shack at the beach with good food. Biggest plus is plentiful showers to clean off sand before heading home. My biggest piece of advice is to arrive soon as the beach opens to park if the day is good beach weather. We arrived an hour after opening and got 1 of the last parking spots. So check the tides, check the weather, and pack your lunches to save money!

The beach at sunset

Great time to go to this beach as it is free after 5 pm. Great time of day to be there when the sun is not so hot. Beautiful sandy beach

A beautiful beach with large tidal flats
Apr 2021
Came during a weekday in late April. It was windy and cloudy but the beach was beautiful. I loved the sand here. The tidal pools left behind at low tide allowed my two sons (age 14 and 6) time to explore them. We discovered horseshoe crabs burrowing themselves, hermit crabs, and more. I wish we could've stayed longer to catch the sunset as so many other commenters have mentioned. I can see why folks love it here!

Amazing sunset spot!

We went to Mayflower beach for sunset on our first night on the Cape and it was AMAZING!

The tide was going out and we could walk very far out and still be ankle deep. The water, the sky, it was all beautiful and a great way to kick off our vacation!

Tidal pools and then sunset
Aug 2020 • Family
Arrived as tides were coming back in (~3:40 PM). Paid $20 to park—only a few spaces left. Beach was crowded, but generally people were adhering to 12 feet minimum distance. Nice sand. Tidal pools were near—water rose rapidly. We left for dinner at Sesuit Café, then returned for sunset (~7:20 PM). Even more crowded as people could come without paying for parking after 4:00 PM. Sunset was truly beautiful. Loved the applause as the sun finally dipped below the horizon.

Great beach for the family
Aug 2020
Great beach. Most of the day is low tide so kids can walk far in ankle-knee high water. Going early, pre-8am during peak season helps. The $30 fee was fair. Good facilities and good food stall. Super organized during entry, you get a tag to put on your rearview mirror, lots of people giving directions clearly as to where to park. Short walk from parking past the dunes to get to the beach.

Sand was soft, barely any rocks. Lots of periwinkle snails and little hermit crabs. Water was clear for northeast waters.
