We stopped in to try some nice locally made wines on Memorial Day, and really enjoyed our time here. You are able to get a tasting of their wines (you choose 5), a glass of anything on their menu or a bottle and enjoy it on the winery floor or outside, if the weather is nice (it wasn't the day we visited). The staff is very helpful and happy to answer any questions you have about their wine or the process. You are also able to bring in your own food, so you can turn your visit into a nice picnic!

Really worth the visit and we want to visit when the weather is nice!

Enjoyed an afternoon wine tasting while visiting family in New Bedford. had the gruppa. was so enjoyable I had to take two bottles home.
I will be visiting the winery when I am back in the area in the summer.
The operations manager was very enlightening. She has me looking forward to future reserve releases

If you're out and about and like wineries, do check out Running Brook in North Dartmouth, Ma. The wines is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. Not a glitz and glamour place but real down to earth people. We did our tasting with the grower and one of the workers. Great conversation, very enlightening!
A must visit!!

I gave it a 2 because it wasn't quite a 3. My wife and I tasted several of the wines. Their best dessert wine I'd rate a 3.5 to 4. The Merlot which was supposed to be a favorite was maybe a 3. The rest weren't worth mentioning. Asked for a stemless wine glass with the 1 bottle we did purchase. Got home and discovered they got that wrong.

Not impressed.

When you arrive at Running Brook Vineyard and Winery, you think you're in the wrong place. The entrance to the tasting room, which is also the wine-making area, is on the side of a large old barn. We were greeted warmly by the winemaker and owner, Manny Morais. He proceeded to delight us with his colorful descriptions of his wines, wine and food pairings, and his views on the terroir of Massachusetts.

Our favorite of the whites was the 2007 Chardonnay. It boasts a nice complexity and would be great with food.

Running Brook's reds have a lighter color than many other reds. Manny explains that he ferments the wine with the skins on for only 5 days -- vs. the typical two weeks. Thus they are not as deep in color.

Though I like Cabernet Franc, I preferred the 2004 Cabernet Franc Merlot blend (40% Merlot) over the 2005 Cabernet Franc. The Merlot grape seems to balance the strong tannins of the cab franc grapes. This is a nice table wine.

Make sure you taste their dessert wines, all of which are very good:

* Auslesen 2007 -- the "noble rot" is done with chardonnay grapes instead of reisling grapes. It's sweet, but not sickly sweet like some Ausleses. Smooth, too. Manny recommends this with some fruit mid-afternoon.

* Late Harvest Vidal -- this is the "raisin" wine -- the taste of raisins lingers on the palate. This would be a great after-dinner drink, Manny says.

* Frost Wine (Eiswein) -- this is the sweetest of the three, and delightful.

If you want to visit the New England wineries, and don't have a lot of time, skip the overly commercial and unremarkable Sakonnet Vineyards and visit Running Brook instead. It produces full-flavored whites, reds, roses and sparking wines that please the palate and will make you believe in the concept of "regional wines" (those not grown in such known wine regions as Napa).

A great place in the country. Spent the afternoon with a friend catching up, drinking wine, & listening to Michelle Saylors. It's such a pleasure when a vineyard allows you to bring your own snacks. Beautiful day, good music, & made a few friends. Ian& his golden retriever-Charlotte & vineyard owner-Maria were very pleasant, had wonderful conversations with both (Charlotte, although very smart does not talk). Pleasant group of people enjoying a sunny day. What more could you want? Will be back for more relaxation & music.

We gathered for my daughter and SIL's rehearsal dinner. She originally wanted to have her wedding here, but in April the weather was to uncertain. They were helpful and accommodating. We brought in our own food and they allow you to bring in soft drinks or coffee. Good wine, good food, good company...a good experience. I would have given them a 5 star but they really need to address how muddy their driveway and parking areas are.

We have been coming here for years now and it still ends up being the best vineyard to come sit outdoors, enjoy some good wine, listen to some live music, with a nice picnic or charcuterie with great friends! The staff is very friendly and welcoming and quite honestly, we have made so many different friends at this vineyard. This will always be our go to place!

This was our first time out here. I planned a little anniversary tour of some local places we haven’t visited as well as a few of the wineries on the Coastal Wine Tour! This winery was great. They happened to have live entertainment when we stopped in. The 14 strings duo. They were pretty good and pleasant to listen to while we sipped our wine. We did a tasting inside and got a slight reprieve from the stifling heat of the day. We grout a couple of our favorites to go. The person conducting the tasting was pleasant and knowledgeable. The offered oyster crackers and cucumber water to break up the tasting and cool us off a bit. My husband was beat from our 5 mile hike earlier so we opted not to stroll the vineyard! Hopefully next time !

Enjoyed an impromptu stop here for a tasting. Have been before. Wines are good but not our fave. Blackberry liquor is really good. They have live music on weekends which is fun.
