This is one of the nicer beaches on the south coast of Chatham. Has a nice snack bar where they also rent Sunfish and Hobie Cats. We rented the latter and had a great time on a cloudy, windy day!

No waves, sand is like gravel. Great place for families including little kids. Water was warm. I prefer cooler water and more waves. Nice sand is a plus too. This was weird sand. Bridge is a pain too. Sounds quaint but you have to wait for people with strollers or coolers because it's narrow. Won't bother again

Through the years the beach landscape has changed but it has a wonderful inlet for children to play in and explore the sea life. Kids will easily be kept occupied.

Wow, great beach for family...especially young kids. We had no problem with parking at 10:30am. Plenty to do including kayak and paddle board rental, snack bar, bathrooms, etc. Tidal pool is great for young kids - lots of wildlife to check out and shallow water. Ocean side was calm and water temp was perfect. Lots of beach area - crowded... More

Ridgevale Beach is extremely popular due to the inlet or as better known "the creek" side. There is an inlet where the water is calm and the hermit crabs are plentiful. Children spend the entire day catching and releasing all kinds of sea creatures. Be sure to bring your nets and pails. If you do not, they are sold at... More

One early morning in July while riding around with my son and his three small children we stopped at Ridgevale Beach. The early morning hour made for gentle conditions at this lovely spot. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the beach over a small bridge that brings one to the small tidal pools before the main... More

My children love this beach. It offers a sheltered salt ocean pond area as well as ocean front for the older folks. Keep an eye on the tide though-beach area will disappear as tide rises. Need to pay or have beach parking pass. Concession stand available.

Ridgevale beach is the second largest of the three south facing Chatham Beaches. Parking is not large so get there early. If you are a resident you can get a beach pass. If not it costs $20 a day. There is a concession stand adjacent to the parking lot. There is lots of sand, small inlets for kids, and a... More

This is a great beach for young children as it has a an ocean side and an inlet side. There is a short wooden bridge between the parking lot and beach. The inlet side has warm, shallow water, and lots of small sea creatures for children to observe and collect. There are portapotties beside the parking lot ($25/day or $75/week... More

The bridge walk was quaint and I loved watching the baby crabs squirming around below. There was a lot of wind when we arrived on the shoreline so we used the dune for protection. The beauty of this beach was the shallow depths allowed us to swim even in early June!
