My husband and 19-year-old son had a great afternoon sailing lesson with Eric on a Hobie Cat. They went out on a windy day which and had a wonderful time. Eric taught both of them so much about sailing. They both said he had a great personality. He took amazing pictures of each of them and also a short video. If we are ever in Chatham again, they will definitely contact Eric for another lesson.

My sons had two half days sailing with Eric and he was amazing! He talked them through the basics and then showed them where to sail, making allowances for their different levels of proficiency. There were seals popping up all over the place and they had a great time (the boys as well as the seals). It’s such a brilliant way to see Chatham and learn about the Cape. If you’re visiting the area, definitely put Chatham Sailboat rentals on your to do list.

Eric with Chatham Sailboat took myself and my two boys out on the water today. We had never sailed before and he was so great. He taught them how to steer the boat, where to keep the wind, how to tack etc. plus had tons of knowledge about monomoy, seals, sharks, the cape, and honestly just a super nice guy. Was a great time and the kids learned a ton. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I’m so glad we took the leap and did this. It was a highlight of our vacation. We will definitely be back again to give this another shot! My kids are 14 and 10 and I was completely comfortable having them out on the water.

I have been going to the cape in the summer my whole life and always go to Ridgevale beach. Great place to spend the day with the family. Tidal creeks for the little ones and great kayaking through the marshes. The beach is beautiful and the chatham sail crew is the best. Highly recommend putting Ridgevale Beach on your list and renting a sailboat from these guys! Thanks as always! See you next year!

We have been coming to Ridgevale Beach and enjoying the tasty food at the snack bar for almost 20 years but this year my daughters wanted a refresher on sailing and decided to take sailing lessons with Eric. It was a pretty windy day but we felt very confident with Eric and his instruction. We had a great time while the girls brushed up on their technique. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxed and enjoyable lesson with an expert sailor/instructor.

We can’t recommend Eric and the team here more highly. Our family spent the afternoon learning to sail with Eric. He took us out on a Hobie- and we spent a gorgeous afternoon sailing and watching the seals out in Monomoy Island. The day was a highlight of our trip. He was patient and informative, and taught us the fundamentals of sailing in a very relaxed, low key setting. Everyone had the chance to try their hand- and everyone left wanting to go out again as soon as possible. The best!

We came here to rent Hobie Catamarans with a group of friends and had a great time! The staff were super nice and explained everything about the boat, including safety instructions, which we haven't seen any boat rental place explain before.
They set up the catamaran for us and helped us get out and come back in to the beach, and even pointed out cool.places to visit and have lunch at. We followed their advice and got to see seals!! Afterwards, we chilled out by the beach before heading out to grab dinner. We will definitely be back!

I have been interested in kayaking for some time now, but I have never had the opportunity to try it out. I contacted Eric from Chatham Sail and it was the most pleasant experience. He was extremely friendly, patient and informative. He took my husband and I on our kayak tour and the scenery was breathtaking. Our experience was nothing but positive, so much so it encouraged to us to buy our own kayak! For a couple looking for a fun experience with some excersize and great views, Eric is the guy to see.

Very much enjoyed our experience with Chatham Sailboat Rentals. Erik was a fantastic instructor. Following our lesson with him, we rented Hobbie 14 twice. The boats are in good conditions and the sailing area is open and large enough to have fun. Would definitely recommend Chatham Sail to anyone looking for a casual and fun yet safe sailing adventure. Thanks Erik and team!

We’ve been coming here for about 6 years and have always had a great time. It’s one of our favorite traditions on Cape Cod. We’ve rented stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and sailboats – sometimes all in one afternoon! The Hobie Wave is a great boat for the whole family; it is stable and easy to sail. My kids and I have had sailing lessons with Eric. He lets us learn by doing with his expert guidance. Eric recognizes our family every year; we appreciate his welcoming attitude. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Chatham Sailboat Rentals makes every rental experience a winner! P.S. Parking at the beach is free when you rent (a $20 savings).
