My husband and 19-year-old son had a great afternoon sailing lesson with Eric on a Hobie Cat. They went out on a windy day which and had a wonderful time. Eric taught both of them so much about sailing. They both said he had a great personality. He took amazing pictures of each of them and also a short video. If we are ever in Chatham again, they will definitely contact Eric for another lesson.

Our family of four scheduled a lesson for our two boys - ages 14 and 12 - with Eric, based on other reviews. We had a wonderful and relaxing time! The boys learned about sailing safety and the basics and both learned to steer. We even saw several jellyfish, as well as a group of seals! The wind started to die down later in the afternoon but we made it back to the beach at about 3 mph. Totally worth every minute! We’ll be back next year and also plan to do kayaking next year, as well.

We’ve been coming to this beach for years and always indulge ourselves with a several trips on the boats. I can’t say enough positive things about Eric and the staff on their concerns for safety and making sure everyone knows the details before taking out their boats. We love the Hobie Wave boat, it’s great for 4 people and easy to sail. It’s not the best for coming about in the wind, but it’s easy to jibe and maneuver. There are only a few sailboat rentals on the cape and this one is by far the best!

Eric with Chatham Sailboat took myself and my two boys out on the water today. We had never sailed before and he was so great. He taught them how to steer the boat, where to keep the wind, how to tack etc. plus had tons of knowledge about monomoy, seals, sharks, the cape, and honestly just a super nice guy. Was a great time and the kids learned a ton. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I’m so glad we took the leap and did this. It was a highlight of our vacation. We will definitely be back again to give this another shot! My kids are 14 and 10 and I was completely comfortable having them out on the water.
